MTP: Rich Lowry's Inconvenient Ferguson Truths Cause Panelist Outrage
NewsBusters ^ | November 30, 2014 | P.J. Gladnick

Eeek! How dare he?!

National Review editor Rich Lowry actually committed the "heresy" of citing the evidence presented to the Ferguson case grand jury on Meet The Press today. Such evidence is rarely cited by liberal circles because it confirms the account given by police officer Darren Wilson. Lowry's flagrant disregard of avoiding the inconvenient truths caused quite a reaction from Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post who was left sputtering in reply and from Andrea Mitchell who entertained the audience with her body language outrage.

If ‘’Meet the Press’’ hadn’t invited Rich Lowry on to tell its audience the truth, what would have been left of the show except Andrea Mitchell and Eugene Robinson lying and hysterically attacking conservatives together, and the show would have been nothing more than a TV version of the Democratic Underground.

Re: “Don’t rob a convenience store if you don’t want to get killed by the police.”

Is Rich Lowry quoting John Derbyshire?

National Review must be having a fundraiser this week.

We had the usual Sunday "coffee with friends" session after Mass today. Of course we discussed Fergistan. One of the men is a retired attorney and former prosecutor. He pointed out something I hadn't thought about. Everyone who had any desire to testify was heard by the Grand Jury, under oath. If the Feds try for a "civil rights" trial, those "witnesses" can't change their story, or they could be prosecuted for perjury. As my friend put it, they've been nailed to the ground.

In conjunction with Rich Lowry’s concise summary of what Ferguson actually is: don’t rob a convenience store, don’t wrestle a cop for his own gun, and when a cop with a draw weapons says stop, then you stop, BUT let’s add this absolutely clear piece of truth.

This was a small town incident where a cop shot a guy. It’s local news at best. It’s reported on the evening news perhaps, and then it goes in the hopper of all kinds of similar, uninteresting “cop shoots suspect” stories.

Ferguson is a tiny, suburban nothing in the middle of no place.

It’s a mundane, every day event.

For your useless factoid file:

Thorazine was discovered in France by veterinary researchers searching for more effective anti-worm medicines for farm animals. They happened to notice that the animals became much more researcher-friendly and easier to handle when being wormed with Thorazine!

This class of drug is also responsible, IMNVHO, for the huge increase in the homeless nut-jobs infesting our urban centers. In ye olden days, these folks would have been residents of some county funny farm, which were all closed by:
(1) The ACLU, which limited involuntary commitment of the insane, no matter how insane. and
(2)The availability of these drugs like Thorazine and Stelazine, aggressively marketed to the public mental health sector, using the argument that since these drugs made the nut-jobs behave OK, olde Wassamatta County could close the funny farm and save money!

Problem is, on the drugs, nut-jobs feel so good, they think they're cured and have no need of them any longer, so they avoid taking them. Now, with the county funny farm closed, there's no one to give them the dose they really need and they are free to wander about howling at the moon and voting Democrat.

Eugene Robinson is really stupid period. William Raspberry was a lot brighter and generally better person at the WaPo.

There's a big debate going on these days about whether something called "EQ" or "Emotional IQ" really exists.

As the WH has rather deftly shown us, I am coming to believe that EQ does exist and that Team Obama has mastered its application.

First: The Ebola Crisis. Hopefully it is subsiding but in the meantime The Mombasa MF beefs up his "Humanitarian Reputation" by throwing open the gates of US Medical Care and Immigration opportunity for Africans from the epidemic regions. Hooray! The Left rejoices!

Second: The WH (Valerie Jarrett on point, Al Sharpton, Eric Holder and Algonquin J. Obama hisself) have literally spent weeks organizing and encouraging the riots, making sure the feckless Governor did not use the NG when it was needed, and seeing to it that Negro demonstrations were organized elsewhere. They not surprisingly, have scored many points with their base among feral ghetto blacks, but also with the members of the Loonie Left as shown on the program where Lowry was foolishly attempting to inject facts into what is now a legend. Both are solid PR wins for Team Obama. Who cares what I (and you) think?

My Daughter The Communist Professor offered a pretty good explanation..... "Dad,You (and you, too) do not understand Obama, because he is (a) not talking to you. And (b), You (and you) are not supposed to understand. Because you (and you) are against him, he benefits."

IOW, factually this is truly .... a mundane, every day event.

Emotionally, it is now more like the equivalent of the Assassination of Martin Luther King.

Kind of reminds me of the discovery of the first of the non-drowse-making antihistamines, seldane. It was originally an animal tranq that they tried to use on humans. The problem was, it couldn't get through the blood-brain barrier. They were about to write it off when one researcher noticed that the trial participants frequently mentioned that their sinuses cleared.

I’ve also often wondered if the explanation for the increase in suicides among those taking SSRIs wasn’t primarily just due to the fact that while depressed they didn’t have the energy to kill themselves.

Is there a special Thorazine compound for the minds of delusional, adolescent Progressives?

Just asking.
