Shock Over Award to Leftist Who Penned Blood Libel Poem (Israel)

Balfour Hakak, former chairman of the Hebrew Writers Association, told Arutz Sheva that Mifal Hapayis’ (Israel’s official state lottery) decision to award the Landau Prize for Arts and Sciences in the poetry category to radical leftist poet Yitzhak Laor is “surprising.”

Laor, a controversial figure and writer, has expressed vitriolically anti-Zionist stances both in his poetry and prose work.

In a 2011 essay for leftist newspaper Haaretz, Laor called to get rid of Zionism, writing, “Liberation from Zionism is not a dirty word. In any case, what lies behind Zionism nowadays are interests related to water, real estate, strategic relations with the U.S. and a huge army hungering to justify its existence.” …

Lock him in a room with Medea Benjamin. I’m sure they’ll have a lot to talk about.

90% or more of petty anti-semitism comes from the sin of envy of another man’s hard work and efforts towards improving themselves.

There may be Muslims who have "expressed vitriolically anti-Muslim stances both in poetry and prose work."

Of course, if there were any such Muslims, they would have been killed, and their work burned, and no one would ever have heard of them.

I’m guessing anti-Semitism is Satanic in nature. 100%.

Muzzies are Semitic so Jews don’t get to own the term. I’m Christian and I love Jesus, His Mother and the apostles. Anti Jew because of their rejection of Christ - in a theological construct - is not anti-Semitism in an ethnic/DNA sense.

Probably true.

Envy was among the earliest of sins, and still a leader.

“What is anti-Semitism?”

I would pretty much just read your posts to get an idea of what an anti-Semite posts.

Actually, both Jews and Arabs are, as the following cultural examples will show.

Both Jews and Arabs fear ayin hara (evil eye) or the ill wishes of those that envy us. Jews deal with it by saying ‘kin ayin hara,’ ‘bli ayin hara’ or spitting three times before praising someone. Arabs deal with it by either dressing up their infant sons as girls, or allowing them to become filthy and unkempt playing naked in the streets. Same concept. Different manner of handling it.

Both Jews and Arabs, on the birth of a child, affix a picture of an inverted hand over the door. Jews have kaballistic writings or psalms written on the fingers of the hand. Arabs just have a hand, probably because literacy is a rare thing among them.

Both Jews and Arabs honor scholars. But only Jews have studiousness and scholarship as commonplace. Arabs will honor a scholar, but won’t bother learning to read themselves.

Both Jews and Arabs believe that human speech can create reality. Jews will say ‘chas vesholom,’ ‘lo aleinu,’ or ‘chas vechalila’ before discussing death and other misfortunes, as a ward against it, and will not say the name of the ‘big C’ out loud, and will not say such common things as ‘you’re going to die for that’ or ‘if they hang you, your eyes will bug out,’ instead speaking in the third person as a matter of policy. Arabs will do the exact opposite, cursing people they hate with the most graphic, hideous terms they can muster, and also say the most outrageous lies and slanders, knowing them to be untrue, because they believe that their utterance creates the reality.

So in many respects, Arabs and Jews share common cultural traits that can be called ‘semitic,’ but in the case of Arabs, they differ from Jews in that they lean towards vile venality, whereas Jews try to lean as far away from it as we can.

You also appear to be ignorant. The term antisemitism has nothing to with those who speak semitic languages. As I suspect you know it's an 18th century political term for Jew hatred. Though that's a popular Jew baiting tactic. Been used on on the Pope by Assad's pop as I recall.

As to your profession of faith, take it to the religion forum.

As to your admission that you're anti Jew, my opinion only, f*ck you.

As to your implication that Jesus, Mary and the apostles are anti Jew, that's also a topic for the religion forum as well, though I admit some folk amongst various religions do consider it a secular, political issue as well.

Semitic is language descriptor, not racial or cultural. Your examples indicate this. Would be expected that Arabs and Jews, the first and third practitioners of semitic languages today would share cultural similarities.

Cement boots would be more appropriate. Evidently, the intelligentsia in Israel are as infected with cultural marxism as ours. Actually, they are worse, since American Jews would never put up with this.

Thou headest for the zot with that pile of ignorance.

Islam is not a race/ethnicity, to boot. “Semite” may mean a descendant of Shem, but “anti-Semite” definitely means anti-Jew.

“Anti-Jew because of their rejection of Christ” does not describe any of the Apostles. So you’re against the Apostles and against Jesus.

No, not necessarily cultural. Ishmael after all was a hybrid of Semite (through Abraham) and Hamite (through his Egyptian mother Hagar).

And there are plenty of semantic differences between Arabic and Hebrew. Take the word “akbar”, which apparently in Arabic means “great(er)” (such as in “Allahu Akbar”); but the Hebrew word “akbar” means “mouse”.

The term was created by German Jew haters to differentiate their scientific Antisemitismus based in the racial struggle of Jews and Aryans from medieval Judenhass, hatred of Jews. So congratulations. You are a Jew hater so pathetic that that proto-Nazis looked down on your kind.
