Two men affiliated with the New Black Panther Party allegedly planned to murder Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson and St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch and bomb the Gateway Arch.
In an undercover police sting, the two bought a pipe bomb, and intended to buy two more but couldn’t afford it until one man’s girlfriend’s Electronic Benefit Transfer card was refilled, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Brandon Orlando Baldwin and Olajuwon Ali Davis, who go by the names Brandon Muhammad and Ali, were indicted last week on weapons charges when Baldwin purchased two hi-point .45-caliber pistols intended for someone else....

In a bottle deposit stare, right? They can’t pull cash directly from the card but can buy bottled stuff, drink it or pour it out, redeem the empties for cash and buy a few rocks, etc.

And I see no mention of welfare fraud charges against the girlfriend.

Complete morons swept up in an FBI sting: they gonna take down the arch with some plumbing parts they thought were a pipe bomb. Would make a GREAT comedy skit:

Suspect 2: Uh, it don’t look big enough to me.
Undercover FBI Agent: It’s one of them SPECIAL miniaturized Japanese pipe bombs, and it’s filled with extra-high super dooper primo explosive!

I’ve always thought that when perps get arrested on COPS and, off camera, they’re told they’re getting paid if they sign a release I’m sure they say “For real? Man, my cousin, Tyrone, he gots all kinds of warrants out for him. Do he get paid, too?”
Can only get cash back on an EBT card if the person also gets welfare or other cash benefits. You can not get cash back on the food stamps. Can’t even take an item back to get cash because the money is placed back on the card.
Of course a lot of people and even stores will commit fraud to game the system.
