(KMOV.com) – It can be a terrifying situation when a driver is in their vehicle and is suddenly surrounded by protesters and it happened multiple times during protesting in Ferguson.
So what do you do if you find yourself in this situation? News 4’s Sharon Reed sat down with two security experts who shared their 60 years’ experience.
It’s important to remember to:
Remain calm. Getting excited tends to get others excited. Slow down. Don’t run anyone over where you will injure them. Stay in your vehicle. Keep the doors locked and windows rolled up. If you are inside your car, police can identify who are the victims and who are the aggressors.

I usually only have one hard ball in the chamber and the rest hollow points. guess maybe i should alternate to cocktail.
Don’t drive where there are black people. If you aren’t black, assume they hate you, and that you are their enemy. If black people are coming to where you are at, leave if possible, and if it isn’t possible, be prepared to defend yourself, preferably with an armed group of people.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking militant blacks will reason with you, or show you mercy. They will smash your car windows; kill you and your children, and trample on your remains.
Man, now I can’t get that song out of my head. Lol.
I worry for you guys when the decision comes down. Don’t forget some of those people are going to be armed as well. So stay safe and stay home if you can but also listen to the radio to avoid problem situations and if unsure park it in a safe place until you know.

I stay the heck out of the dicey areas around DFW. I stick to major roadways and heavily travelled side streets. Anyone stupid enough to attempt to walk into traffic for whatever nefarious purpose their addled brain can dream will be turned into roadkill faster than you can say ‘speedbump’.
When we had riots in 2001, I wanted to build a wing that would come out from under my truck on each side and clear a path about 30” wide on each side. Hydraulic cylinder to push it in for normal travel, spring loaded to snap back after kneecapitating the unwise. Might be a problem for the ankles and shins of persons standing too near the truck as it passed, but would do a good job at keeping people at a distance.
Now, I just carry a big can of bear spray and my cc.

I would slowly push the car forward as long as the people let the car move on. If the mob starts attacking the car I would go somewhat faster to make it more difficult to attack, and if they go crazy I hit the pedal as best I can to get away.
As far as someone dying in that situation, well they are creating the problem and are putting me at risk in public areas doing illegal activities.
IMO you have to take this as far as they make you go. Black, white, yellow or whatever, it makes no difference who the mob is.

Learn you car’s vulnerabilities. Front engine cars do not survive well when hitting a 200 pound mass at any speed. There is noting infront of the engine but cheap plastic. This includes light trucks.
Likewise, they do not do well with bodies under the wheels. Hit stationary objects slowly or air bags will deploy.
Watch a demolition derby video to see how professionals use their vehicle as a weapon.
If you travel in a straight line you are more likely to be struck by bricks or bullets. But, if you crash into a pole you are certain to be harmed.
Try driving in reverse in a large parking lot to practice. Show your passengers how to deploy the bear spray out the window.
Back in olden times, when on safari in the jungle, it was recommended that you bring a supply of shiny trinkets to hand out to the natives to avoid becoming their evening meal.
In modern times, the same applies. Bring a bag of EBT cards and a trunk full of expensive sneakers to hand out to the “protestors”, and they will let you pass safely.

I don’t think that’s a very good idea. The backblast from a claymore is lethal.

Always keep the speed down. a human with pants around his thighs can only run about 2 mph. A rioter with a brick in hand maybe 12 mph. No need to risk air bag deployment by speeding away. And, if they get hold of the car, it will be more fun to drag them until a tree or a pole presents itself to scrape them off.
Right. That is how I read it. Be passive and allow your self to be killed by the feral mob, but at least it will make the police’s job easier later on.
I consider speeding away going faster than most people can run, not going freeway speeds on a city street.
Hate to say it, but these days you may have to hope criminals doing acts of crime die during the criminal act due to stupid juries awarding jerks money for getting hurt while perpetrating a crime against you.
