I consider speeding away going faster than most people can run, not going freeway speeds on a city street.
Hate to say it, but these days you may have to hope criminals doing acts of crime die during the criminal act due to stupid juries awarding jerks money for getting hurt while perpetrating a crime against you.
And, as always is the case, never say anything to the police or anyone else about what happened until your lawyer tells you to. Do that no matter what the police say to you. Even if they are patting you on the back and getting you coffee after running over a few natives. Mum’s the word. “I’ll make a statement after I talk to my lawyer. Are you arresting me? OK.”
