"I think the Republicans will lose in court if they go to court. The president clearly has the discretion to tell the Justice Department who he wants to deport and who he wants to not deport, where he wants the emphasis to be, it's clearly within his rights. But more than that, if the Republican party can't control itself, if they, in fact, shut down the government because of this, they'll pay a heavy price. If, in fact, they say, we're not going to do anything about immigration, because the president took this action, they'll look like spoiled children. They'll pay a heavy price. If in fact they say, we're not going to meet the president halfway about anything because he did this, they'll pay a heavy price."

Yes!
“Ill never vote for another Republican again.”
I will, but there aren’t many I would vote for.
That’s what Rush said yesterday. What price did the GOP pay?
The GOP was falsely blamed for the government shutdown in 2013, and they went on to win a substantial coast-to-coast victory on Nov. 4, 2014.
Also, in reality, only 17% of the government was actually “shut down.”
It pretty much has to be one of the two.Christie is the only other who has the correct connection to the Party and he is simply not in line at this point.
Nope, I just don’t accept or believe it. I think this amnesty thing is going to coalesce some pretty pissed off groups, IMO. Groups that won’t be amenable to “acts of love” and impotent will.
“If the GOP does nothing or anything not effective, they will pay a price.”
I don’t look for the Republican Senate to do anything, mConnell says his job is to fund government, I would describe the job of United States Senator a bit more broad than that. I don’t believe there are enough Conservatives to help Senator Cruz get anything done. I don’t trust RP.
Outside of Cruz and maybe 5 others, I see the GOP being a useless tool of liberalism. They have now proven that. It isn’t a “maybe” anymore.
Oh I am quaking in my boots. Just like they would pay a big price for shutting down the government last year.....Utter drivel from a dimorat hack
They don’t want to do that.
Get the pres. under oath.
the next election is not for TWO YEARS!!!
BRING it ON!!!!
“Rendell: If GOP Shuts Down Government Over Immigration Executive Action They’ll ‘Pay A Heavy Price’”
Fast Eddie is solid concrete between the ears.
They do come dumber than Fast Eddie, but not by much.
Arguably (not credibly, IMO) his "prosecutorial discretion" is a discretionary and reasonable decision not to act. It is by definition, a decision not to act.
Issuing work permits, in contrast, is a policy decision, an action. That is not part of a decision 'not to act.'
I’ve had this nagging feeling that Trent Lott is back. Of course, it’s possible he never left.
It will be the same process. A bunch of good to great conservatives will run hard in the early primaries. The Designated Candidate will lay low and contribute to smear ads at the leading conservative that will pretty much end that man’s bid because many voters will get nervous and think well where there’s smoke there’ fire. The conservatives will be flattened one by one. Then in the later primnaries the RNC selectee, i.e. the next in line will win as the last man standing. It has happened rather routinely If it were a head to head between Cruz and Romney, say, the outcome would be different. If it appears to be shaping up that way the RNC et al will finance and push other conservative candidates and the result will be the same. The open primaries are foregone as they will have many Democrats in them voting for the candidate who doesn’t actually want the Presidency, just the Nomination. The Republican Party is really a semi closed club.
One might have thought so two months ago - even a cynic like me. But I have more faith in what has happened with the electorate since then and in the egregiousness of Obama’s actions pissing them off even more. And, at this point, I’m just not into defeatism.
Increased sales of thumb screws to use on democrats to ensue.
stfu, Fast Eddie.
Oh, and by the way: Fast Eddie had a similar reputation to Bill Cosby back in the day. Women, come forward.
Deportation, and by extension, admission to the U.S., is at the whim of the president. Thank you, Ed, for clarifying that.
Sadly, Fast Eddie is right on this one.
The bulk of our public is too STOOOOOPID to comprehend what the Republicans would actually be doing.
