About 25 members of the pro-affirmative action group By Any Means Necessary -- also known as BAMN - broke out with chants of "Minority enrollment's been going down, open it up or we'll shut it down" and "We don't need another committee, open it up to Detroit city," during the University of Michigan's Board of Regents meeting Thursday afternoon.
The chants quickly turned physical as the protester pressed forward toward the regents. Security responded and the group continued to press forward as multiple protesters were forced to the ground after refusing to back down and move their protest out of the meeting room.
Moments later, U-M president Mark Schlissel and the Board of Regents were escorted out of the room by security, and police responded to the seen.
Jose Alvarenga, one of the organizers for the BAMN protest, stopped the chants before delivering a written speech about "hostility and frustration" that the group feels toward the university for its "false promises and undelivered result."
"Actions speak louder than words," he said.
The group protested outside of the Michigan Union on U-M's campus last week and made it known that they would be protesting with signs and public comment.
"This university is not reserved for rich, white students," one protester said.
According to the 2014 fall enrollment numbers released by the university last week, minority freshman enrollment took a slight dip from 10.6 percent of the class to 10 percent from the previous year.
If I were running the show they would face greater and greater charges every time they return.

When I was at a protest against amnesty in Lansing Mi last August, this group showed up. They are aggressive, vulgar, physical, trying to provoke altercations. Not exactly a very good representation of potential new citizens, but they don’t care. They need to be tased, repeatedly.

The organization of “GIMME” and “I am a Victim!” The only place for this on a resume is for government, politics, academia and foundation work. So, obviously, they will be very successful working in and for the plantation!

Then the employers will only hire people who can pass technical examinations.
They’re already giving examinations as part of the interview process for tech jobs now.
Another thing, when the Tea Party started really getting organized a few years back, Phyllis Schlafly came and spoke to a group of us. She told us that the biggest reason the Equal Rights Amendment stalled out was that the protesters pushing it got more and more aggressive and violent, turning off potential backers. I wonder if the Illegal Immigrant/Amnesty pushers will eventually do the same. Certainly the BAMN has great potential to offend all.

No, and it hasn’t been for years, and people I know who are now in their 30s said, back when they were in the senior years of high school, that they knew they couldn’t get in to U of M because of the racial profiling being done by the university at that time to exclude as many white students as possible. The U of M scheme was struck down at last by the courts, and the then-head of the hell hole said nothing had changed, all would continue as before. Thanks cripplecreek.
There used to be chairs for the type of tasing this group needs.
