Ferguson, Missouri (CNN) -- The grand jury hearing evidence on the Michael Brown shooting is preparing to meet Friday for what might be its final session, and a decision on whether to charge Officer Darren Wilson could come the same day, law enforcement officials briefed on the plans said.
St. Louis County prosecutors are preparing to present more evidence to the grand jury before starting deliberations, and a decision on an indictment is expected soon after, the law enforcement officials said.
If a decision comes Friday, prosecutors are expected to provide law enforcement with 48 hours notice before making a public announcement, possibly on Sunday. The current plans could still change and prosecutors could shift the planned grand jury session, the officials said.

Why all the delay. Easy decision. No bill.
Need the riots and unrest to occupy all the media until all the dumb sheeple forget about amnesty.
McCullough was the Truth Squad guy from 2008. 0bama no doubt gave him his orders.
Frankly, I am surprised this announcement won’t come on 11/22, the date of the founding of the Nation of Islam. Muslims do love their anniversaries.
I think it will pile on more. Most of America will be horrified at the riots, and will call it another failure of Obama. He was after all, going to bring us together as a country.
I want a real, good riot.
No sense in actually announcing it at 2AM on a work night or anything.
The should release the information on Saturday morning, while the protestors are still sleeping off their hangovers.
“given that the rioters are acting out based on false rumors of what happened”
The rioters have made clear they will riot no matter what the verdict is.
Let the thugs riot. I am sure the good people of Ferguson are now well armed. Let the thugs show the rest of the country their behavior.
Yup: there’s enough people involved in the know, with enough pressure to say just “indicted” or “not”, that SOMEONE will spill the result within minutes. Doesn’t even need that - the rumor machine will spew a result and people will start acting.
The concern is that they won’t riot in Ferguson - they’ll pile in cars and go elsewhere, as they’ve said they’re going up the road to a more affluent area.
There’s also announcements of several dozen protests the next day all over the country. Just a few weeks ago, some twits shut down the main freeway thru Atlanta waving Michael Brown signs.
Would they’d keep it to Ferguson. They won’t.
I suspect they decided this a long time ago and are afraid to release the results.
I still say NOV. 27.
Best to hold up the news until Mid January when the temperature is below zero. It will cool down the tempers. Even better, do it during a heavy snow storm.
Well, they don’t work anyway.
Can’t come today, it would steal Obama’s limelight.
“Massive riots break out as Obama announces immigration plan”
That is even better. A conservative is a liberal who got mugged. The white liberal neighborhoods will receive an interesting lesson. They will not bother the conservative areas, because they will get shot.
I knew the Ferguson Distraction was coming the minute I heard Obama was disposing of the Constitution with the Amnesty order.
Obama delivers us a double whammy.
Ferguson Grand Jury should have never happened. Just like Zimmerman should have never happened.
“Just in time to distract the media from the unconstitutional amnesty debacle!”
The last thing anyone in the Obama administration is worried about is distracting the media. The Mainstream Media is their wholly owned propaganda ministry.
What’s happening in Ferguson is all about distracting urban Aftrican-Americans from the fact that Obama has just tossed them under the bus by bringing in a fresh set of dependent voters who will have more rights, privileges and benefits than they do.
It’s also no accident that rioters are being egged on by paid agitators to move into well-armed white neighborhoods.
