The only hospital in the historic mountain town of Leadville is closing.
St. Vincent has been around for 135 years.

Leadville’s residents have to go for a long drive for medical care. I don’t envy the fact they no longer have a hospital serving them nearby.
Hopefully there are some doctors in town, otherwise, if there is a medical emergency, the only thing you can do is plop them in the car, drive like crazy and pray they don't die along the way. B-(

Yeah , but is it covered in your health plan ?
There are a lot of people going to go bankrupt due to "not covered" or "out of coverage area" medical expenses.

Thanks to O and Grubby Gruber this will continue. It is an effort to force people into ‘cities’ where they can get ‘health care’ that is approved by the government.
Georgia is experiencing the same thing.

Was amazed,
Was driving through Leadville on the way to Twin Lakes to drive route 82 to Aspen.
Stopped at a very small drive in liquor store and bought a mixed drink to go. They handed it to me through the drive in window and off we went.
Route 82 is one very fine scenic route.
