According to Sen. Jim Inhofe, there may be enough Democratic votes to override President Barack Obama’s expected veto of legislation to authorize construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.
The Oklahoma Republican said that Democrats who survived their party's big defeat in the midterm elections want to keep their distance from the president — so much so that many of them would vote to override a possible veto on the pipeline.
"After the beating the Democrats took, keep in mind we have another election coming up in 2016," Inhofe told WMAL Radio on Thursday, The Washington Free Beacon reported. "There are a lot of Democrats who will not be real excited about President Obama. Just look at the last election – how few Democrats wanted Obama to come into their states to campaign for him."
Asked if he believed Republicans could muster enough Democratic votes to override a presidential veto on the pipeline, Inhofe replied: "I think so."
If all 45 Republicans currently in the Senate voted for the project, they would need 22 Democratic votes to ensure that a presidential veto could be overridden.

Something is seriously wrong if ONE man with an unknown past from an unknown country can stop most of the Congress and the will of the people from building a pipeline. What country is this again?

So, I suppose it will be Landfill herself lobbying Sinators to help out their fellow ‘Rat, but additionally, the ‘Rat house members as well - who voted today 252-161, or 39 votes short of any veto-override. But, then none of these ‘Rats want keystone... they just want the appearance of wanting keystone.
At this point they don’t have the 60 votes for cloture. Inhofe thinks they can get 67 to override?
There is no hurry.
The only reason for the Democrat controlled Senate to pass it this time is to try and help Mary Landrieu in the Louisiana Senate runoff. The best thing that could happen would be for it to pass now and Obama to veto it, with not enough Democrats voting for it to override the veto.
In January, when the Republicans control the Senate, they can pass it again and have a much better chance of over-riding Obama’s veto.

Many of the worthless rat $inators in danger of getting voted out of office will become some what sensible from now on.
If they lose their seats, the rats will be out of power in DC, and there will be no nice cushy high paid jobs for former rat $inators.

You need 67 votes to override a veto.
That would require 13 Dems to vote to override.
Manchin, Landrieu, Pryor, Donnelly, Begich, the one from Montana (is it two from Montana?), who else?
Keystone is a perfect wedge issue. Divide the Dems with a plan that is right for America.
Two for one.
His opponents were unarguably native born Americans.
Elections have consequences. Apparently a majority of Americans voting in the last two presidential elections thought he was the best choice.
