Key GOP Senator Says He Thinks Obama’s Attorney General Nominee Will Be Confirmed

Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch said Thursday he believes U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch will get approved by the Senate to replace outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder, but that the confirmation process should wait until after the new Senate has taken office in January.

“Looking at it, I have to say, she looks like she will be a good person,” said Hatch on the Steve Malzberg Show. “But I think the newly-elected senators on both sides should have the privilege of voting for or against her — and I think most of them will probably vote for her. And it ought to be done in a way that has always been followed, since the Civil War.”

She’ll get YEA votes from all the GOPe and, as usual, they’ll whine and complain about Republicans that don’t.

McCain, Graham, Collins, Alexander, Corker, Hatch, Cornyn, and all the other spineless jerks will vote YEA. I bet even Rand Paul does.

Can we have a do-over and just put the Dems back in charge?

" He seems very naïve. "

No, Hatch has been busy stabbing Mike Lee at every opportunity.

The libs at work were bouyant for this reason on the Wednesday after Election Day last week, proclaiming that “now Hillary will have a villain to run against!” and that the GOP senators would just be do-nothing seat-warmers for the next two years.

I bragged that the confirmation train was about to grind to a halt. Now I feel like a damn fool, but I should’ve known better than to put any sort of confidence/trust in those clowns..

Totally predictable. Years back Hatch used to brag about how he and Slick Willie set the standard for how opposing parties should work together to pick qualified SCOTUS nomininees. Hatch got with Slick and they agreed that a fine nominee would be: Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Useless suit.

I pray for retirement of these old RINO croaks but they just won't leave all of the trappings of DC behind, even as they destroy the nation.

His support of Kennedy and Kennedy’s bad baggage clued me in to Hatch a long time ago.

“The GOPE is going to let amnesty and Obamacare slide, no budget cuts because they already said no shutdown.

The Uniparty wins.”

No, there is a difference. If a GOP is president, even a GOPE, the dems won’t be all nice and fuzzy about any appointees.

Where do ya come up with present/future tense. This nation has been destroyed. The drippings are all that's left.

The apparent ease with which this radical Leftist will be confirmed by the GOPe is a glaring sign of the fact that they are completely unoffended by the corruption of the current Attorney General. It’s not at all important to them.

So they are going to let amnesty slide, they don't want to fully repeal obamacare, and they are going to confirm this Holder #2.

Can you tell me why the GOP majority is better than a Democrat majority? What exactly are they doing to stop the democrats?

I think we need a ping list for the "you-purist" liberals on this forum. They seem to miss these threads.

Think, folks.

Good idea. Some of the anti-GOP commenters are trolls. Others tend to focus a bit too narrowly. Conservatives need to try and unite more than they fight.

Of course she will be confirmed.

But perhaps Hatch and others could keep their mouths shut until a serious hearing into this woman's past and her views has been put before the American people. It's a chance to show what sort of ideologues Obama and the Dems are nomninating.

Think, folks.

What if she said “We gunna kill all y’all racist crackas” during her confirmation hearing, would Hatch still approve?
