Maine Sen. Angus King: Who cares if ObamaCare architect Jon Gruber thinks voters were
Hot Air.com ^ | November 11, 2014 | ALLAHPUNDIT

Via Newsbusters, after yesterday’s unpleasantness and the Halbig “speak-o” fiasco of a few months ago, I see Democrats (plus independents in name only like King) have finally reached the “Jon who?” stage of their Gruber problem.

This is the game we’re playing now, eh?

KILMEADE: They just lied about a health plan to the American people, called the stupidity of the American voter and bragged about the lack of transparency.

KING: This is one guy. I don’t know who this guy was. All I know is that it’s important for people to have health insurance. And if you guys are saying people shouldn’t have health insurance, I don’t know where you’re coming from.

GUILFOYLE: That’s not what we’re saying, sir.

KING: Are you that cruel?

“All I know is that it’s important for people to have health insurance.” That’s consistent, at least, with the ends-justifies-the-means Democratic M.O. that’s defined Obama’s presidency, particularly its second half. Want to bomb Qaddafi in Libya and ISIS in Syria but not have to wrestle with Congress over an AUMF? Just skip it and send in the jets; all I know is that intervention is important. Want to get ObamaCare started on schedule in 2013 but worried that midterm voters will react badly to the employer mandate? Just suspend implementation of the mandate, even though it’s statutorily required. All I know is that it’s important that the law succeed politically. Want to amnestize five million illegals but can’t get Congress to make a comprehensive immigration deal? Just do it by executive order, separation of powers be damned. All I know is that it’s important to pander to a key 2016 swing bloc. Not three weeks ago, the capital’s biggest newspaper reported on a study claiming that Al Franken, the 60th vote for ObamaCare, probably owed his Senate victory in Minnesota six years ago to illegal votes. Democrats never should have been able to beat the GOP filibuster in the first place. When we’ve already reached that level of fraud to pass this boondoggle, why sweat the fact that the guy who wrote the law admits they pulled a fast one on CBO and the dim, gullible American electorate?

Obama knew “if you like your plan, you can keep your plan” was a lie from day one. He told it anyway because it was useful in selling the law to skeptical voters. All Gruber’s guilty of is summing up the approach that you’ve seen playing out with your own eyes for the past five years.

King is an idiot. If people want health insurance they should buy it. If the government would leave the market alone it would be cheap and as easy as car insurance.

If you don’t buy it and get hurt then YOU pay the bill. No money? Too bad. Pay over time.

He’s just vomiting the party line. Fox should ban this knucklehead. He makes Bobby Scott look like a “Roads Skolar”.

Put Mark Warner on. He can at least think.

But he has it backwards, if they were stupid you wouldn’t have to lie, they would believe anything. But if the voters were smart, then you would have to deceive them (as they did).

Progressives believe that they don’t have to answer questions because they already know what is best for you. In their minds questioning them means you need to be re-educated.

Even some of the elite leader class of marxists are to dumb to understand that obamacare is more about people control than health.

It’s out there and after the last election when citizens said we have had enough of this, the “stupidity” remark will not die. The left can try and the media can cover but their influence is deader than Marley’s ghost.

It’s called a Freudian slip and shows the real state mind.

Yes, but if the progressives get new minimum wage laws passed at $15/hour, millions will no longer qualify for subsidies. Talk about sticker shock, lol.

Using the Senators logic I guess it would make perfect sense to LIE to the IRS about your income because, after all, if you had more money you could then spend more, thus keeping our "consumer economy" afloat.

LIBERALS spend an awful lot of time lying to themselves.

The Senator is FULL of $HIT.

I agree, they can pay for it, just like I do.
