Rick Perry: America's Next President Will Not Be a Senator
breitbart ^ | Nov. 9, 2014 | Adelle Nazarian

LOS ANGELES, California—In an exclusive interview at Breitbart News Network's headquarters, Texas Gov. Rick Perry said President Barack Obama would cement a legacy of being the worst president in American history if he moves forward on executive amnesty.

"I don't think this man wants to go down as the absolute worst president in the United States — although the jury is still out on that," Perry said, adding that if Obama moves forward on executive amnesty "he will be guaranteed that slot. Because the American people will not accept an executive order that basically takes our constitution and throws it out the window. They will not accept that."

Perry, considering a repeat presidential bid in 2016, had just spoken at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library for an event celebrating the 50th anniversary of Reagan's famous "A Time For Choosing" speech. Among his scalding criticisms of Obama, Perry explained the president's failings as due to his background as a U.S. senator – something that happens to apply to several of his would-be challengers for the GOP presidential nomination.

I’ll never understand the appeal of Rand Paul. He is not interested in principles, he is interested in ideas, especially the idea of Rand Paul as president. It would be hard to find an issue that he has not come down squarely on both sides.

You know Perry is not a bad guy— he shouldn’t have been indicted but he was a cheer leader pretty boy in college. I don’t think he sees very well into the future and this anti Senator crap makes me real tired. I like Senators for President— I like Cruz and Paul. The establishment doesn’t so they put this governor crap out. A governor knows nothing about Isis or federal tax and budget matters and Perry couldn’t find his way to the pisser in DC. So he needs to button up.

Stephen Douglas was Senator from Illinois when he was defeated in the 1860 Presidential election (nominee of the Northern Democrats). He came in second in the popular vote (just barely) in a four-way race, but came in fourth in electoral votes. William Howard Taft didn’t manage to do that in 1912.

I think you are right and events seem to be lining up to suggest that may be what he wants as well.

Cruz is running for President. He wants no part of the Majority Leader's job -- which would simply get in the way.

Jeff Sessions is best qualified or Majority Leader, anyway.

It was a team that won the first American Revolution and you need a team to win the second American Revolution."

Damn, that's good. What a great idea!

I would tend to favor Walker.

Perry has made too many gaffs which give him the mantle of the dumb Texan.

Is Walker a good public speaker I wonder?

Huckabee. I don’t understand what people see in him. He plays a conservative on TV.

“Obama would cement a legacy of being the worst president in American history if he moves forward on executive amnesty.”

obama as worst is already carved in stone, I don’t believe there’s anything he can do to fix it but amnesty certainly isn’t the way.

Another subject; Governor Perry, WHY would you hire someone as unethical as henry barbour? Do you not worry about your credibility with Conservatives?

And the next president will not be Rick Perry either. I’ve been very patient with Perry over the past couple years, but I’ve had it with him. Hey Rick, have the National Guard secured the border yet?

From all reports I've read, Gov Walker isn't very charismatic, and not a great public speaker. Two essential qualities for winning the race for President.

I always thought of GWB as being the 4th worst, but I think you’re right in LBJ.

“Meaning he’s on the Torpedo Cruz team as expected.”

That would explain Governor Perry hiring henry barbour.

Perry is trying to clean the field in some ways like he jumped the shark towards Sarah Palin, in my view. She was totally surprised when Rick Perry announced that he was sitting up a presidential exploratory group. She even admitted that she was told by Rick himself that he wasn’t going to run. I think that had so much to do with her not running. I can’t see him winning because he has allowed so much damage (illegals) coming into Texas. He commonly speaks strong after the fact of an event in which has been out there for days / to weeks..I like people speaking out right away, from their convictions without polls/ data. It’s easy to see an empty suit, like Romney is.

Perry also hired one of the worst attack dogs to ever be turned loose on Sarah Palin. That guy is Eric Schmidt, McCain's 2008 campaign manager.

This, after Sarah stumped for Perry in his last race for Governor of Texas. Some gratitude, eh?

Perry is on Team Romney and has a few of his staff. He has always been a RINO at best. Pro illegal (his choices in office benefited and facilitated more of them), attacked his heartless base, tried cronying a superhighway at public expense and ignored the rights of parents. That’s all a matter of record regardless of the spin.

He’s a liberal. His supporters support a liberal.
