What's next for Charlie Crist? [Florida Dem Party In Shambles]
Herald Tribune ^ | 11/5/14 | Zac Anderson

Posted on 11/06/2014 7:36:42 PM PST by SoFloFreeper

Democrats bet big on Charlie Crist’s bid for governor, and his loss Tuesday is not only a potential career-ending outcome for one of Florida’s most prominent political figures of the last two decades, but also another gut check for a party at a low point in statewide influence...

Democrats lost six seats in the state House of Representatives, giving the GOP a super majority. The partisan makeup of the state Senate did not change, but Republicans are still just one lawmaker shy of their all-time high.

Additionally, every Cabinet position — governor, attorney general, chief financial officer and agriculture commissioner — remains in Republican hands. U.S. Senator Bill Nelson continues to be the only statewide elected Democrat.

....Florida Democrats invested nearly all of their resources in Crist this election cycle. There was little time, money or energy that went into down-ballot races that can be important to grooming future statewide contenders....

The vaunted Crist field operation — described as a scaled-down version of what President Barack Obama employed in Florida in 2008 and 2012 — focused on Democrat-heavy South Florida, but turnout did not increase enough in Broward and Palm Beach counties from the lackluster 2010 levels to give Crist the boost he needed.

That Charlie Crist is kinda funny. Not funny haha ...

Seriously, though, has any other politician in recent memory demonstrated less in the way of principles? He makes Mitt Romney look like a committed ideologue. Who can trust Charlie Crist? What’s next? CNN? They hire a lot of gays.

Yeah, he’s amazingly vacuous. A homosexual, spouting conservative positions when he was a Republican in a conservative state, but governing as a squish. Then he gets spurned by the party in a primary against a real (so we thought) conservative, and he pouts and comes back as an independent wearing a beard on his arm. Then, a year or two later, he s a very liberal democrat. People don’t switch from conservative to leftist that quickly unless they are truly hollow inside. Crist is.

Love this tagline:

Florida Democrats invested nearly all of their resources in Crist this election cycle. There was little time, money or energy that went into down-ballot races that can be important to grooming future statewide contenders....

How can a party be so stupid as to invest all its eggs in Crist? They have no money on hand now to rebuild their farm bench. The Democrats got what they deserve.

He can hang out at South Beach and get a real tan, instead of that spray-on tan.

Apart from Nelson, the Florida Democrats have no deep bench or real talent to speak of.

They need to poach Republicans to win. All they have to show for their efforts is a single lousy US Senate seat that’s a great help to the state in the minority.

Now that his political career is over, I predict Crist will finally admit he is a homosexual. Always the victim.

There may be lots of hollow politicians in either very red or blue districts who say what they need to say in order to be in power and we will never know what they really think. It’s just that this guy was too clumsy.

He’ll probably wind up getting a gig on MSNBC.

I picture him making pornos in Key West.

Crist is like most of them.

Fortunately, a plurality of Floridians saw right through him.

Its scary how people are willing to be fooled by someone who tells them what they want to hear.

If he can’t get the Libertarian or Green party nominations, he can always run for Condo President of Phase 3 at Del Boca Vista.

Charlie has a future in politics as long as there are political parties he can switch to.

In fact, I sense a TEA party conversion with Charlie Crist's name all over it in the very near (two years or less) future!

The Peace & Freedom Party might be able to use him

or the Party for Socialism & Liberation

or the Florida Socialist Workers Party
