Some call the fear and hate ad campaigns being orchestrated by Democratic Party supporters to boost black turnout in next Tuesday’s congressional elections desperation.
I call it pathetic.
The way for a Party to get support is to deliver success. When there is no record of success, lies, distortion, and fear become the operative tools, in hope that uninformed voters will buy the garbage.
Black voters are becoming more politically engaged than ever, which means they are also becoming more politically informed than ever. This is why the sick ads being run on behalf of Democrats in battleground states, designed not to inform but to provoke fear in black voters, are likely to backfire
A flyer being distributed by Georgia’s Democratic Party shows two dark-skinned black children holding a sign saying “Don’t Shoot,” suggesting that somehow voting for Democrat candidate Michelle Nunn will stop a tragedy in Georgia, like the recent shooting of black teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri by a police officer.
Or an ad in North Carolina suggesting that a vote for Democrat Kay Hagan will prevent President Obama from being impeached.
Another in Arkansas shows pictures of blacks in distress and suggests that conservatives are out to strip blacks of their rights and protections under the law.
There could not be a more telling sign that many Democrat candidates are about to be turned away by voters than the large sums of money being spent targeting the Democratic Party’s most loyal constituency, blacks, knowing that they are losing interest because there is no good news.
But here’s the worst part.
A sizeable chunk of the funds paying for this fear and disinformation campaign is coming from groups who really are hurting black Americans.
Certainly there is nothing more damaging to black progress and improvement then the concentration of failing public schools in black urban areas.
As I wrote several weeks ago, days before Michael Brown was killed in Ferguson, Missouri, he received his useless high school diploma from a public school that had just lost its accreditation from the Missouri State Board of Education.
If there is anything that black Americans are becoming more aware of is the desperate need for alternatives to public schools.
And no groups are more committed to making sure those alternatives do not become available than America’s two huge teachers unions – the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers.
Combined funding to candidates, uniformly Democrats, from these two unions in this campaign cycle stands currently at $34 million. But over and above this, combined independent expenditures of the two unions, which find their way into ads like the ones described above, stand at $6.7 million. These are among the largest independent expenditures of any groups in the country and they 100 percent go to either attacking Republicans or supporting Democrats.
Then we have Planned Parenthood of America and its affiliates around the nation, with independent expenditures – again 100 percent of which go to either attacking Republicans or supporting Democrats – and certainly going into these black-focused ad campaigns – of $5.3 million.
Planned Parenthood clinics target black women, who account for 7 percent of the nation’s women of childbearing age and 35 percent of the nation’s abortions.
Combined independent expenditures of the teachers unions and Planned Parenthood total $12 million, which ranks at number 14 of the 150 plus groups making independent expenditures in the nation.
What more do blacks need to know than that the sick, vacuous political campaign of hate and fear targeting them is significantly financed by those who want to assure that poor black children stay in failing schools and that unborn black children do not enter the world.
Black Americans need their children educated, their families intact and healthy, and jobs.
Democrats have failed them across the board. Well-financed lies won’t mask the truth.
It’s time for change, and blacks and Democrats know it.

The author is a black woman, and probably has a lot of them right in her own family.
Here in predominantly 'white Red England'; democrats play the 'gender card' instead of the 'race card', and it seems to work quite well for them. (Senator Shaheen, Congresswomen Kuster and Shea-Porter, Governor Hassan...we'll see if that changes tomorrow.)
On the other hand there are blacks that are finally waking up and see that there are just a token of the rats

Yes, we all WANT Ms Parker to be right in this case. But if I can recall my Freakanomics correctly, politicians spend MORE money on winning campaigns with enthusiastic constituents. When a campaign goes sideways, it is starved and abandoned. Therefore, if MORE is being thrown at this particular campaign (and starving the losers), then it is a sign of their expectation to win, not a sign of desperation.
Anyway, I hope she knows something we don’t.

Yep, we’ll see....my hunch is Shaheen goes down. For all the grief he gets on FR, Scott Brown, for Mass or NH - ain’t bad at all. Moreover, he ran the best “anti ObamaCare” campaign ever when he beat Coakley. And he’s running the best anti amnesty campaign this cycle.

What throws many of them (family members and friends) is if you ask them this “ Did you know the democrats at their 2012 National Convention actually voted to remove any reference to God in their resolutions ?

The GOPES (GOP Elite Snobs) running the show then and now could have referenced this by replaying the video clip of that vote and suggest the reason democrats lie so much is because they don’t believe in sin.
As far as Star Parker and Coleman is concerned they have yet to connect the dots to Obama and Holder and the damage they have done to blacks by their encouragement and manipulation of both the Zimmerman and Ferguson episodes. Using that to divide the races simply to save their sorry asses from investigation of their incompetence and corruption. By doing so they have the rest of all the races believing “afro-americans” are so amoral and don’t know right from wrong.
Obama using the “Bully Pulpit” like he did to encite this krap could have opened his mouth and stopped it. Instead he stands by and says nothing letting it go on while black yutes are maiming and killing others because of their racial differences because it serves his political purposes. while the rest of those so called democrat politicians say nothing.

Every election cycle, they troop out all their dated and groundless statements about how exploited, cheated and underserved, etc. minorities are in America. Liberals have to RE educate minorities on just how AWFUL they have it here...
(By the way... it's SO AWFUL here that minorities from everywhere risk their very lives to get in, even illegally and are encouraged to do it by the very Liberals who claim American minorities here are cheated, exploited and under served!!!)
Meanwhile, minorities in America get more and more free stuff (gratis) and opportunities than any other groups on the face of this earth. I say they get more free stuff but they don't benefit from it (according to Liberals)-because they need MORE AND MORE of it all the time...!!!! Once again... Liberals getting it both ways! :)
