Open-carry advocate targeted in 'swatting'

The Bearing Arms website said the activity is “a favored tactic” of gun-control supporters.

For example, from the Facebook page of Moms Demand Action, a group that tries to push retailers into public statements of opposition to guns, a Jennifer Decker wrote, “Every time I see someone with a gun in a store I will call 911 … because I feel threatened, they’ll get tired of that right quick!!!”

Added Alan Crammatte, “Call the police and say you feel threatened by a man with a gun.”

Those moms. What a bunch of pranksters huh? All they gotta do is claim they're mentally ill (this is NOT a lie; see hopolophobe) and can escape charges. [Is alan crammate having a gender re-assignment? I'm just saying if he's a "mom's" member. Maybe in their open minds they embrace transgenders. Open minds? Now that's a stretch. And what if it's a woman with a gun? Been there, done that!!!]

I feel threatened by people that scream, moan, whine, complain and otherwise do nothing while evil triumphs.

Hmmmm. Maybe your on to something. Maybe we should outlaw whining, screaming, moaning and complaining. Or maybe just outlaw evil. That should take care of it.

We’ve gone from suicide by cop to murder by cop huh.

Naahhh ... not outlaw, but punishable

I open carry in a gun friendly store, some whiner calls the cops, I get harassed (but of course no 'charge' of any kind) and I turn around and accuse my accuser of whining and she gets a public spanking (something daddy should have done when she was an infant) .. just as I got a public humiliation.

Maybe then, THEY will 'get the hint'

This has been used against conservative bloggers too, unrelated to the gun issue. Someone is going to get seriously hurt one day because of leftists doing things like this.

And when the police show up, will the “threatened” callers demand that the cops leave their guns in their cruisers?

I believe some folks have already gotten hurt. If this happens to you, do as the person on the motorcycle did. Comply and be VERY non-threatening. Better to prevent being gunned down than act all tough and macho and shouting “You can’t do this to me.” Remain calm and sort it out. Some LEO’s are a little edgier than others.

Seems like there’s an easy solution here. Provide a few of these idiots with some mandatory free housing at a state run facility for about 10 years and it’ll probably stop. And if they want to claim mental illness as a defense, I’m sure the state can arrange some accommodations to help with that problem as well.

Typical leftist behavior.
Try to use the government to squash any activity that you disagree with.

The police do not need to prove criminal intent, the prosecutor can do that with the aid of a psychiatrist and a hearing.

The caller can and should be called for filing a false report. If anything in his story is false, it can be proven pretty easily.

The arrest and conviction of these people (mentally ill or not) should be made very public. That will discourage this behavior.

Couldn’t the gun owner file a civil suit against the lady, as well as possible criminal false reporting?

Didn’t that happen to some guy at a Costco?

Perhaps someone should SWAT back at their homes late at night.

There is supposed to be a penalty for abusing 9-11!

The reality is you have no way to tell in advance what kind of LEO will be there first.
An experienced and reasonable one would quickly realize that only one call from an hysterical lady uncorroborated by anything else is highly suspicious.
When he sees a person carrying a holstered gun and behaving calmly that she be the end.
Then it’s time to see about putting the lady in the state hospital or arrest for false report.
All that said, concealed carry is probably best. Although having the option is nice.

Beware of sloppy cops. In the Virginia case in the article, the cops failed to check with the convenience store to see if, in fact, it had been robbed. The cops also failed to arrest the 911 caller even though he had made previous false calls to 911. The cops said that there was some question about the mental health of the caller. That’s not their call to make.

“Didn’t that happen to some guy at a Costco?”

IIRC, it was in Nevada. The victim was a USMA grad and honorably discharged from the Army.

2 Cops showed up, one screamed “get down NOW”, while the other screamed “Freeze, don’t move!)

Then one cop opened fire for failure to comply.

Actually, I’m glad she advertised this. Were I a lawyer litigating a 2A claim against LE, et al, I’d cite this as an inducement to malicious prosecution. If she were directly involved and cited, I’d sue her ass too.
