Southern Shockwave: Mary Landrieu Blames Obama's Unpopularity on Racism
Breitbart Big Government ^ | October 31, 2014 | Wynton Hall

In comments sure to cascade into regional races across the South, embattled Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) told NBC's Chuck Todd on Thursday that Southern racism is to blame for President Barack Obama's unpopularity.

"Why does President Obama have a hard time in Louisiana?" asked Todd.

“Let me be very, very honest with you," said Landrieu. "The South has not always been the friendliest place for African-Americans. It's been a difficult time for the president to present himself in a very positive light as a leader."

Landrieu added: “It has not always been a good place for women, to be able to present ourselves. It’s more of a conservative place. So we’ve had to work a little bit harder on that. But, you know, the people trust me, I believe. Really, they do.”

She got where she is because of the name, and at the time she was good looking. Still has the name that, as time goes by, becomes less and less important.

Doesn’t have the looks anymore. Frankly, she reminds me of a Democrat party chew toy that has had to do, and put up with and support all manner of Dem actions that have ended up hurting her constituents.

As Mark Levin stated the other night on his radio program, it’s the Democrats that are being racist. They don’t want Obama coming near them, don’t won’t him in their state, don’t want him campaigning for them. A case could be made that it’s because he’s black. But the GOP doesn’t know how to fight so they’ll never go there. I hope more than a few blacks are finally starting to figure things out about the Democrat party.

In 1966 - Too young to vote - but remember the Dem Incumbent Governor going to a black School and stating to the kids, "Remember, it was an actor who shot Lincoln..."
The Friday before the election...

The Governor: Brown, Sr. His challenger was a fellow named, Ronald Reagan, actor.... Reagan won by 1 million votes

Louisiana probably doesn't care any more for trickle up epidemics than North Korea does.

Amusing seeing all these pathetic white liberals depending on the black vote and doing their best to gin it up. These racism charges are Landrieu’s effort to get out the black votes. The white vote is probably negative for her. She loses the the white vote

DESPERATE HONKIE!!!

“The South has not always been the friendliest place for African-Americans.”

Of course it hasn’t. There was a time when it wasn’t but that was a long time ago.

Amen, sis. Especially when DemocRATS ran things.

From black-and-right.com:

April 16, 1862 President Lincoln signs bill abolishing slavery in District of Columbia; in Congress, 99% of Republicans vote yes, 83% of Democrats vote no \

July 17, 1862 Over unanimous Democrat opposition, Republican Congress passes Confiscation Act stating that slaves of the Confederacy “shall be forever free”

January 31, 1865 13th Amendment banning slavery passed by U.S. House with unanimous Republican support, intense Democrat opposition

April 8, 1865 13th Amendment banning slavery passed by U.S. Senate with 100% Republican support, 63% Democrat opposition

November 22, 1865 Republicans denounce Democrat legislature of Mississippi for enacting “black codes,” which institutionalized racial discrimination

February 5, 1866 U.S. Rep. Thaddeus Stevens (R-PA) introduces legislation, successfully opposed by Democrat President Andrew Johnson, to implement “40 acres and a mule” relief by distributing land to former slaves

April 9, 1866 Republican Congress overrides Democrat President Johnson’s veto; Civil Rights Act of 1866, conferring rights of citizenship on African-Americans, becomes law

May 10, 1866 U.S. House passes Republicans’ 14th Amendment guaranteeing due process and equal protection of the laws to all citizens; 100% of Democrats vote no

June 8, 1866 U.S. Senate passes Republicans’ 14th Amendment guaranteeing due process and equal protection of the law to all citizens; 94% of Republicans vote yes and 100% of Democrats vote no

“The South has not always been the friendliest place for African-Americans.”

Of course it hasn’t. There was a time when it wasn’t but that was a long time ago.

That was back when the South wasn't the friendliest place for Republicans either. Lester Maddox was a democrat, George Wallace was a democrat, Bull Conner was a democrat, Bull Conner's dogs were democrats, every Ku Kluxer who ever soiled a sheet was a democrat. The Klan was the muscle arm of the democrat party, and about a quarter of the lynching victims were white, often white Republicans lynched for being too helpful to would-be black voters. If Little Miss Mary wants to bring up the history, bring it on.
