Krauthammer: If Republicans Can't Win Senate "Maybe The Party Ought To Look For Another Country"
RCP ^ | 10/29/2014

CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: This really is a Republican tide. I think the chances are very good, maybe 70% that Republicans retake the Senate and for good reason. The reason is this is essentially a referendum on Obama. In 2010, it was a referendum on his ideology, the overreach with Obamacare, the stimulus, cap and trade, and now, six years in, it's referendum on ideology, but now added on to that, it's on sheer competence.

And when you are not only the party in government, you are the party of government, and you preach about the glories of government and in fact you get Hillary saying the other day, you know, it's not corporations that create jobs. The implication being it's government then if you are incompetent and you lose the confidence of the people you are in trouble. And you have every scandal there is -- everything from the V.A. to the Obamacare rollout to the Secret Service and now with Ebola, where they are running around, have no idea what to do and they change the protocols every other day.

So, given the climate, I think it would be -- you know, if the GOP can't win back the Senate in a climate like this maybe the party ought to look for another country...

Abbott needs to end our contract with the union if fraud keeps the Senate in RAT hands.

I’d like to vote for them to find another country.

Maybe the GOPe Senate just needs a leader who is responsive to the base rather than attacking them....

Which one would you recommend?

Agreed.

I do not like having war declared on me by elected officials in my own country.

It’s a bit too ‘banana republic’ for my taste.

“Which one would you recommend?”

The farther away the better, but they do seem fond of Mexico. Not far enough for my liking, but it is a fit.

Obama along with ObamaCare, the hundreds of other FUBO screwups and now his bungling incompetence of Obola is handing the Repubs a victory in 10 days.

And yet... I am not so sure the Repugs will snatch DEFEAT from the jaws of victory.

For roughly 1/3 of our voters, our election is like American Idol and you vote for the tone-deaf guy because he has blue eyes like you.

Did he factor voter fraud in his prediction?

I agree with Krauthammer on this, and for the most part I agree with Krauthammer regularly.

I do remember some inane anti-tea party type comment he made last summer, so I have no real illusions are him. He is GOPe to the core.

I think he hasn’t confronted the cognitive dissonance in his agreeing with shutting down the borders because of ebola. Hopefully, he’ll wake up some day and realize those darned conservatives were right and the establishment was wrong about illegal amnesty all along.

And for roughly 1/2 of our voters (I think Romney said 47% during the '12 campaign) our elections are like "if I don't vote for the Rat candidate I'll surely starve to death".
