Sarah Palin flirts with a run for office
Washington Times ^

Posted on 10/28/2014 9:28:00 PM PDT by Bigtigermike

It has been six years since Sarah Palin stepped onto the global stage in a sleek suit and a pair of Naughty Monkey high heels as an Alaska governor turned vice presidential hopeful ready to tear up the Republican campaign trail with running mate Sen. John McCain. The nation has been through much since then, as have Mr. McCain and Mrs. Palin, who nevertheless remain on public radar. Mrs. Palin still rattles the landscape — particularly when it comes to her many critics.

“Bless their hearts, those haters out there. They don’t understand that it invigorates me to get out and defend the innocent.

I really do wonder how many of us are really out there.

Good question. Not as many out there as needed to win an election. Do not every forget that Sarah is smart, pretty, on the right side of the issues, but she cannot ever bring in the middle or the left. She can rally the troops, but not the rest. She is better as a king/queen maker than as a candidate.

It seems that way to me, too. And it makes me sad. So many putatively on our side side with liberals in how they regard her.

Makes you wonder what she might be capable of accomplishing if millions decided to back her. Just sayin’

She only needs one supporter, she will not run without Him.

“And this time, she enters the arena on HER terms . . .”

No politician is independent in a world where congressional elections cost millions, Senate races tens of millions, and the cost of a POTUS run is close to a billion dollars.

The GOPe and the Dems will do everything in their power to deny her access to the big money donors. Without tens of millions of dollars she can’t even begin a primary race for POTUS. We know she doesn’t have that kind of money since she quit her job as Alaska governor because the Dems were running up her legal bills.

If Sarah runs, and raises the money, she will have obligations just like every other politician. Unless a candidate has a personal fortune the size of Bill Gates or Warren Buffett it is impossible for her to run for president on her own terms. Even Ronald Reagan had to bow to the establishment and give the VP job to the establishment crony George H. W. Bush who upon election to the presidency in 1988 purged conservatives from the White House, appointed David Souter to the Supreme Court, and reneged on his “no new taxes” promise.

Like every other potential gop candidates right? They all tease. You ever get tired of their act?

You are aware that once someone announce they’re running lots of rules get placed on them, which is why most people are reluctant to announce early

I have only one name to counter your points; David Brat. If you don’t know, look it up. You just might learn a thing or two.

I like that. Also, she better pick a good VP because when the going gets tough as president she'd likely resign saying that she wants to spare her family from the attacks and save the federal govt. money by not having to defend her.

BTW, that old line about not "putting her family through that" seems a bit odd now that she's put them on reality TV shows, doesn't it?

That’s fine, but Sarah now has a history of implying she is about to jump in, milking it for all the press she can get, and then backing out at the last minute, and then hawking another book. At least Cruz has had a staffer say he is all but announced. (And if Ted backed out right before the primary, I’d be reluctant to support him in the future, too).

Last time, a lot of us held off on supporting anyone for Sarah, and then felt used, as we saw the opposition to the GOPe disorganized. It wouldn’t surprise me if a good candidate or two didn’t enter because she was really going to jump in, and then at the last minute, she announced it was a no-go. Even though it was just one time, if she tries to play coy this time, it will be tough to not feel like she is Lucy to our Charlie Brown, and just looking to get her name out there.

You are correct. If she ran for office it might be the biggest mistake she ever made. I would assume she would run in Alaska, and a Democrat currently holds that office. What that tells me is that the race would not be a slam dunk. If she loses, her relevance for anything, TV shows, commentary on FOX, etc is over. She would become yesterday's news after a loss, especially if its a crushing loss, which is a possibility. It would be like having a coin toss with Anton Chugur for her career. As a handicapper, I would advise her not to run. I would predict she would have a 40% chance of winning a race for the Senate, and a 5% chance on a Presidential one. I'm not even sure she could win the primary against her GOP rival. To be fair, I admit I do not get why people get so worked up over her. When I see her on FOX, I will admit, I feel more embarrassed than enthusiastic. I would rather have a candidate or spokesman for my side who seems more intelligent than what she portrays.

If Sarah chooses to run for office again, I will back her instantly.

Hers is the point of view and moral stance our nation needs if it is to regain any semblance of its former greatness. At the very least, it would be worth it just to see the liberals go bloody screaming off their rocker.

NOT referring to Sarah, (she’s pokin’ a stick in liberal eyes) but how long do we have to wait for ‘possible runners’ for the 2016 elections to come down from the thinkin’ mountain to announce their intentions?

At some point, they SHOULD BE looked at as being incompetent because of their lack of decision making abilities alone.

Do it Sarah! But please do nothing more than ‘flirt’ until next Wednesday. Don’t pull a ‘Jeb’.

If you support safe borders, I know you’re great on all the rest, and I’ll support you.

They’ve already tried to destroy you with everything they have. So you’re stronger than any other potential candidate.

McRomney and McCain folded up like cheap suits, and Jeb Bush is cut from the same cloth. Gingrich had billionaire backing and still limped along. All the other not-Romneys did too.

And Herman Cain, while a fireball, showed how fragile and unreliable an unknown GOPer can be.

Please don’t leave us with some lame empty suit this time around! But whatever you decide, God bless you, your family, your friends, and your supporters.
