Lawyer for Fort Kent nurse says she won’t abide by quarantine

Attorneys for a nurse released from isolation in New Jersey after returning to the U.S. from West Africa say she will not comply with Maine health officials’ requirements that she remain under quarantine at home for 21 days.

Kaci Hickox, who treated Ebola patients in Sierra Leone and shows no symptoms of the virus, agreed to refrain from going out in public for two days only, said Steven Hyman of the New York law firm McLaughlin & Stern. She traveled to Maine on Monday after her release from a New Jersey hospital, where she was isolated against her will.

“She doesn’t want to agree to continue to be confined to a residence beyond the two days,” Hyman said.

I think she is sufficiently “nuts” that she needs no coaching.

Yes they would, but we are finding out most (small sampling so far) won't. There seems to be some delusion that it won't happen to me along with they are professionals and know that you have to be symptomatic to transmit it, and so on.

There has to be a split second in there between being supposedly asymptomatic and symptoms erupt. Well, it only takes one little furry twisted colored pipe cleaner from hell to do the trick (admittedly odds would be very low as it has to do with "viral load").

Never gave that much thought to virii and how they replicate themselves and where. They don't do sex and some scientists say they aren't living which doesn't make sense to me.

The feds and hero of benghazi are playing a deadly game. Unfortunately, they will only be proven wrong of the contagion spreads.

See the article that I posted a link to in #65. The job that she had at CDC paid between $65K and $90K a year.

Yet she appears to have had almost immediate access to some pretty well connected attorneys. How much do you think attorneys like that bill an hour?

your use of the latin plural for virii reminds me of a joke.

Caesar walks into a bar “Martinus, please.”

The bartender replies “Martini?”

Caesar says, “no, just one.”

Another example of never letting a crisis go to waste.

The trajectory this broad is taking is not normal.

Someone is behind all of this.

could be a benefit in her contract, legal services related to work.

If not, maybe someone can track down the attorney.

Interesting. I suspect she is also building a record in support of a lawsuit.

If I were a doctor or an administrator, I sure wouldn’t want her working for me.....she’s a headache waiting to happen.

If she can get away with being an obstinate pain in the ass and it turns out that she's right and she doesn't have ebola (which is of course the more likely scenario), then she can get her ugly mug on The Daily Show and her and Jon Stewart can make gobsmacked faces while talking about Republicans and Fox News.

And if she's wrong, some people die or whatever.

They are playing favoritism. Somebody just posted she works for the CDC and the lawyer was a guest at a recent WH dinner.

Odds are she won't get it which isn't the point. Somebody is probably going to get it in the US, we hope it won't spread but by God if they bring in non-citizen Obola patients, well who said it, it's to make Republicans react.

It's probably lurking out there now anyway. Why in all this time have we only had one outbreak of ebola, and IIRC that was in a lab. Some scientists died. Never any brought in from Africa before unless the public weren't told.

There's another thread just started on this subject with a link to the newspaper.

LOL to the joke.
