“It will be an even darker day if Ebola spreads in the densest cities in the USA.”
She is an American citizen, she has and had not symptoms of Ebola. We cannot stand for a government that arbitrarily locks America citizens in quarantine, throws them in a tent with a bucket to use as a bathroom.
That is not the American way and is akin to conditions in a third world prison camp.
You are wrong. She had a fever when she arrived at the Newark airport! If she had no fever, none of the rest of this would have happened!!
She had a 101 fever. She had a port-o-potty not a bucket. It looked like a nice place - not glamorous but comfortable.
I've been mentioning that to folks...
RE: She is an American citizen, she has and had not symptoms of Ebola.
The incubation period for Ebola is 9 days at least. Dr. Craig Spencer DID NOT have symptoms of Ebola until later when he started feeling fatigue and was already in contact with many people in the city.
I think you put it in the cat box
“where do you live she can quarantine at your bright house...”
I would have no problem at all opening my home to this nurse, who does Not Have Ebola, or any other person who has committed themselves to missionary work or helping the sick.
Our military back from Africa is being quarantined and they have not (as far as I can tell) personally handled Ebola victims. Wake up! Quarantines are nothing new to this country.
“a bucket”
that’s not true
the sewage system should not be contaminated - duh
RE: That is not the American way and is akin to conditions in a third world prison camp.
I will agree with you that the city should have been prepared with a more comfortable method of quarantine.
BUT A QUARANTINE STILL MUST BE DONE, albeit in a humane and relatively better way than she was treated.
Now, the golden rule... will I be willing to be subject to a quarantine under those conditions if I were to be a healthcare worker from Sierra Leone? My answer is YES. for the public good.
How about you?
Anyone think it might be a way the ebola virus survives
“We cannot stand for a government that arbitrarily locks America citizens in quarantine”
We have, can and should when the situation warrants it. She was not mistreated. Inconvenienced maybe, but if it turned out she had Ebola, then she would have more quickly gotten the care she needed, you know, before she would go out jogging or fly somewhere potentially impacting others. I really surprised me the lackadaisical attitude these health professionals have towards this.
Quarantine and living in a tent aren’t second class demeaning situations. It might very well be the discerning edge between life and death for millions.
Nobody is safe by monitoring somebody exposed to ebola as they travel cross country and seek to schedule book-signing tours and anything else they can conceive to come into direct physical contact with as many people imaginable.
Human contagions don’t have the right to spread their contagion to others.

Of course. As I’ve posted before I HAVE been quarantined.

What is your source that documents her 101 fever?
there were American citizens on that Carnival cruise that was banned from entering the ports in Mexico etc..
some of them were celebrating birthdays, anniversaries family reunions, honeymoons..
for some of them it was the one trip of their lifetime..
Ive cruised several times..I know what people think of their trips..and how excited they can be anticipating the shore excursions etc..
one selfish dumb Ebola Nurse type just like your “heroine” decided to hide the fact they had worked at the hospital in Dallas with connections to Ebola Man and go on that same cruise as those innocent American citizens..
and ruined the cruise for 3,000 others..and caused them to spend the days in dread and fear instead of relaxation and fun...
My sympathy is with them..
What part of she had a fever do you not understand?
That isn't true. She had a fever.
spreading like a virus. :)
