“The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”

The road apple(Rand)doesn’t fall far from the horse’s ass(Ron).

This should disqualify him for any office.

The author twists Paul’s words

I listened to the speech and Rand Paul thinks the problem is with Muslims who distort the religion.

He fails to see it is the religion itself that is the problem.

Jihadis are not hijacking the religion they are following the Koran and Hadiths and are doing what Muhammed has set down s an example.

On Islam, Paul is in the same class as Geo Bush and the religion of peace approach.

I don't want this naive guy to be our Commander in Chief. -Tom

Rand severely disappoints me. I had high hopes after meeting and speaking with him during the 2010 campaign.

This kind of BS is a non negotiable deal breaker for me.

The world does have an Islam problem. And it certainly is NOT our fault. They are barbarians at best. We did not make them that way.

Where does this idiotic reasoning come from?? Or is it just ass kissing the Muslims?

The world does not have an Islam problem, the world has a dignity problem, with millions of men and women across the Middle East being treated as chattel by their own governments.

He is not only irrational because of his evasion of reality, but he is dishonest because of his replacement of reality with fantasy.

SAFE AT HOME AT LAST!
I’ve never felt safer.
I’ve torn out my alarm system & de-registered from the Neighborhood Watch. I’ve got two Pakistani flags raised in my front garden, one at each corner and the black flag of ISIS in the center.

The local police, CIA, FBI and other intelligence services are all watching my house 24/7.

I’ve never felt safer.

It is a libertarian perspective best enunciated by Richard Maybury an economist.

I cannot say I disagree. I do believe this country would be better off if it stays on its own page.

Even if Rand’s words are being misconstrued, if he wasn’t nationally politicking, he might not find this happening to him. He needs to state his views more clearly, he is lapsing into Ron Paul-like ideology, some is good, audit the fed, rights of the state, Federalism.

Still, his main concern should be to represent KY.

What's there to twist? The world does have an "Islam problem."

No wonder we see so many uninformed out there. They fall for

this same way of Paul and Obama’s thinking.

The man is neutralizing the jihadists as the author points to.

In case anyone still was wondering whether Rand Paul was different from his father. Short answer: the Paultard genes are strong in that one.

“Perhaps the highest profile opponent, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), argued that he would have voted for a war authorization, even as he condemned intervention and mocked the idea of arming Syrian rebels under the old war declarations.

“As [Secretary of State John] Kerry understands it, we could use that [2001] authorization of force to attack the same people we’re giving the weapons to. Think about the insanity of this,” Paul said. “We’re giving weapons to people fighting in trenches with al Qaeda. We could actually attack under that formulation the very people we’re giving the weapons to. It’s absurd.”

Still, before voting against funding, Paul said ISIS was a real threat. “I think there are valid reasons for being involved, and I think we are doing the right thing, but just in the wrong way.””

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/18/congress-isis-senate_n_5846112.html

So.... Which is it? Is he giving aid and comfort to ISIS, or is he a war hawk?

Seems to depend more on who is writing the op-ed rather than in what Rand actually says.

...terrorism is understandably a result of the oppression of Muslims around the word.

That would be true, Islam being an oppressive political ideology.
