SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KCRA) —The suspected gunman accused of shooting and killing two Northern California sheriff's deputies has been apprehended at an Auburn home.

Placer County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Deana Erwin said Marcelo Marquez, 34, was arrested just before 4 p.m. after an hours-long manhunt that spanned two counties.
Marquez is suspected in four shootings that took place Friday, including the deadly shootings of Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputy Danny Oliver and Placer County Sheriff's Deputy Michael David Davis Jr.

Placer County Sheriff Edward Bonner said Friday evening that Davis would have been 43 on Wednesday. He leaves behind a wife and four children.
Davis' father, a Riverside County sheriff's deputy, was killed in the line of duty exactly 26 years ago to the day in a helicopter accident.
"I think there are those people who would say, 'I wish you'd killed him.' No, that's not who we are. We are not him. We did our job," said Bonner. "I am incredibly proud of the men and woman who go out there everyday and put their lives on the line. Today, this organization, this family has suffered a horrific loss, and my heartfelt thanks to all those who reached out to us."
A second Placer County sheriff's deputy who was shot in the arm and is expected to survive.

I was going to make a smart a** comment about the cops killing the wrong dog, but this comment restores my faith a little:

Counting the start of the events in Sacramento County, three deputies were shot and two killed. Sacramento Sheriff Deputy Danny Oliver was killed by a shot to the forehead as he approached a Ford Mustang containing Marquez and an unidentified woman, thought perhaps to be Marquez's wife, in the parking lot of a Motel 6, near Arden and Ethan Avenues in Sacramento. His partner exchanged shots as Oliver lay dying on the ground.
Marquez and the woman fled to a parking lot in the 700 block of Howe Avenue where they attempted to hijack a car from Anthony Holmes, who resisted and for his efforts at resistance was shot five times and fell back into his car. Marquez then carjacked a Ford Mustang, leaving their bullet riddled original car, and fled east to Coronado and Castec Drives where he met a Mexican gardener with a Ford truck, and assaulted him at gun point. . . the Mexican said "I need my tools" and Marquez helped hid detach his trailer of gardening tools, and stole the red 2002 F-150 truck. They fled east on Interstate 80 where they were spotted by two Placer County Sheriff deputies and stopped. . . and who were then subsequently shot, one Deputy Michael David Davis, Jr., fatally, and the other, who may or not also be named Davis, as the Sheriff used that name for him, was shot in the arm. The woman was abandoned there and arrested. Her name has not at this time been released.
Marquez fled to the home of Laura Larson at approximately 1 PM where her elderly uncle was upstairs. The man heard a noise. Dogs missed that Marquez was there but the police returned for some reason and a robot found Marquez and he was arrested after the use of tear gas.
I wish they killed him.
Damn shame our government gets in the way of real justice. There should be a public hanging before the end of next week.

California does, but thanks to our judges and lawyers, “the condemned” usually die in prison of natural causes.
in this picture, you can see the odd "man-boobs" that Marcelo Marquez displays. They were quite prominent. These strike me as a symptom of gynecomastia, the development of female type breasts on a male, a side effect of certain anti-psychotic drugs such as Risperdal, which you may have seen advertised by ambulance chasing attorneys for lawsuit settlements targeting boys who had it prescribed for them for ADHD. Marquez does not look obese in other views, and the breasts are even more pronounced as he is wheeled through the ER door.
Risperdal has other common side effects of which the first one listed is aggressive behavior.
Many other drugs used for the treatment of psychotic behaviors list "suicidal ideation" as a side effect in the Physicians Desk Reference. But since the onset of inexplicable school and mass shootings, that listing has changed from the original, which used to read "suicidal/homicidal ideation" to just "suicidal ideation." They've dropped that alternate "homicidal" portion to just "suicidal" ideation. Wonder why. . . could it be avoidance of corporate culpability?
You can bet his defense attorney's will be claiming he isn't guilty because the schools forced him to take some ADHD drugs during his formative years. . . and he was off his rocker when all this took place. . . and not responsible.
Ya know what? In a way, they might be right. We may have drugged our way to a generation of homicidal maniacs who will break at the least amount of confrontation. That our Liberal educational institutions may be behind this, still does not excuse it. Sometimes the only solution for mad dogs, what ever the cause, is the one Atticus Finch used in "To Kill a Mocking Bird."

I didn’t know much about man-boobs, but I was interested in a possible illegal being exposed to ADHD drugs. I wasn’t buying it, so I did a search. In my opinion, this sounds a lot more likely and as a side benefit something that should get the goat of the pro-marijuana crowd.

In a post for CNN on Thursday, Detroit-based plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn warned that marijuana use could be behind the development of man boobs, known in the medical world as “gynecomastia,” because of the drug’s effects on hormone levels.
“Gynecomastia is caused by a hormone imbalance between testosterone and estrogen,” Youn wrote. “When the ratio between testosterone and estrogen tips in favor of estrogen, the body responds by creating excessive breast tissue. Hence, man boobs.”
Animal studies, the physician explained, have shown that exposure to tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the active component in cannabis, can result in a “decrease in testosterone levels, a reduction of testicular size and abnormalities in…sperm.”
Great catch and explanation!!! I;m ashamed that I didn’t notice his boobs.
