Sarah Palin is fighting back after her daughter Bristol was mocked following a recent brawl involving her family.
“Looking at the reports, it strikes me as bitterly ironic that the same people who tell us there is a ‘war on women’ have no problem laughing at the recording of my daughter crying as she tells police about being assaulted by a man,” Palin wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday evening.

I would like to take Palin’s side in this, but one thing that bothers me is that the police reports (which I read) - not comments by hostile journalists or party attendees - described Bristol and Track as “extremely drunk” when police arrived, and the impression I have is that they were already drunk when they ARRIVED at the party, and that they came to the party in a car WITH THEIR PARENTS. If true, that is certainly very bad judgment on the part of Sarah Palin and her husband.
As one of Sarah’s biggest supporters, I just find myself wondering HOW she found herself at a party with these caliber people?
I mean I’ve been to hundreds of parties but never one where my daughter would have endured being pushed to the ground, dragged across the ground, called the C word, the B word and been bruised and so on. Kudos for Todd’s and Tracks restraint, someone would have been dead if they had done that to my daughter.
I would give odds that the person inviting them was one of Todd’s racing buddies. I use to race all the time and some of the “hangers on” back then might have done something stupid like this all boozed up.
There has been an abundance of Viking Kitty Food on the Sarah Palin threads here lately. Anyone who considers themselves the least bit conservative but still justifies bashing or strongly disagreeing with Sarah is fundamentally flawed or an outright troll IMHO and ought to move on to DU where they belong.
I am sick of it and will call it when I see it.

I did not say that any assault by anyone on anyone was justified; I just said that if the police reports are accurate, the Palin’s should not have showed up at the party with already-drunk children.

I can appreciate where you’re coming from. But from what I hear, you’re going to have to get in the back of a long, long line.

That’s good. Bristol Palin is well spoken.
The “children” are in their 20’s. And I’m not sure if you can accurately assess drunkeness after someone is assaulted since they are emotionally distressed. Bristol was crying and apparently Track had cracked ribs.
Why doesn’t Bristol press charges?
