In the wake of the shootings in Canada, the president said that “it emphasizes the degree to which we have to remain vigilant when it comes to dealing with these kinds of acts of senseless violence or terrorism.” The president has said we must be vigilant many times, but does he follow his own advice?
He is among the least vigilant presidents in memory, always learning about scandals in the newspaper and surprised when aggressors act like aggressors. If he is being vigilant, he’s looking out for the wrong things. He should have been paying attention to the geographic spread of jihadis throughout North Africa, to Iran’s intransigence and aggressive promotion of terror, to Putin’s expressed desire to recreate the Russian empire, to China’s territorial assertiveness, to our allies who complain openly about our fecklessness, to the Israelis who warn that Iran’s Hamas and Sunni extremists are two sides of the same coin of fundamentalist terror, and to three successive secretaries of defense who cautioned against deep Pentagon cuts. Forget hyper-vigilance; this president has not been paying attention when problems and threats shine like neon lights.
Real vigilance and leadership require you scan the horizon, think a few steps ahead, anticipate that evil regimes will be evil and understand simply wishing it so does not end wars. Shell-shocked by beheadings, Ebola and war, the public is plenty vigilant. Now we need a president who is.

Did you know Psaki regularly communicates w/ ISIS to get valuable inside information? Just the other day, Psaki said: "ISIS surprised itself w/ its ability to take so much territory in such a short time."

Obama's National Security Advisor of the United States did something astonishing yesterday. In the middle of a reporter’s questioning, she bolted from the podium of the White House pressroom, saying, “Nice to see you,” fleeing a situation she evidently was unable to cope with.
The question that caused Ms. Rice to flee was a fairly simple one: whether or not the president has authorized the bombing of targets in Syria. Rice responded multiple times that the timing of strikes would not be released, but that was not the question at hand, and reporters pressed her on whether her boss had authorized strikes. Good article, because it points out the main reason Obama is losing women. To them, he’s beginning to remind them of past boyfriends who had good looks and charm, but exuded a cowardly, wimpish quality when it came to the need to confront other males.

About 30 years ago, when New York was still a rather rough place, I was out one night with my yuppy sister, her yuppy friend, her yuppie friend’s yuppy date for the evening, and my yuppy brother in law. All except my sister were prep-school types if I remember correctly. All pretty much exactly the type of liberal Manhattan voters who would have, and probably did, vote for the One these past two elections.
The truth be told, my sister was not exactly dressed like she was going to church. We came across some single yuppie white guys who made a smart remark about my sister as they were walking past. I don’t even know what they said but my brother-in-law heard it and immediately confronted them, and a physical altercation ensued. I jumped in. I got thrown to the ground. In other words my contribution to the effort was minimal, but I knew that this was NYC, and when something went down, you had to step up.
My sister’s friend’s date shrunk back, holding an umbrella, and said “stop, stop, violence is not the way”, or something like that. In a few seconds it was all over, no one was hurt. The other guys decided they didn’t want to get in a knock down drag out over nothing, and maybe get arrested, they apologized in a grumbling way, my sister’s honor was upheld, and we all went about our business.
At the end of the night the date went on his way and my sister’s friend went back with us, as she lived near my sister. She said that she was outraged that when push came to shove, he acted like a wimp. She said she was not going to see him again.
That’s when I realized that even prep-school progressive yuppy democrat kumbaya women despise a wimp. You may be on to something.

In whose mind is this violence "senseless?" To the Muslims, it isn't "senseless" at all. On the contrary, it's commanded by the Koran. It's the infidel wimps who fail to see the sense behind it.
