Good article, because it points out the main reason Obama is losing women. To them, he’s beginning to remind them of past boyfriends who had good looks and charm, but exuded a cowardly, wimpish quality when it came to the need to confront other males.
This always creeps women out.
About 30 years ago, when New York was still a rather rough place, I was out one night with my yuppy sister, her yuppy friend, her yuppie friend’s yuppy date for the evening, and my yuppy brother in law. All except my sister were prep-school types if I remember correctly. All pretty much exactly the type of liberal Manhattan voters who would have, and probably did, vote for the One these past two elections.
The truth be told, my sister was not exactly dressed like she was going to church. We came across some single yuppie white guys who made a smart remark about my sister as they were walking past. I don’t even know what they said but my brother-in-law heard it and immediately confronted them, and a physical altercation ensued. I jumped in. I got thrown to the ground. In other words my contribution to the effort was minimal, but I knew that this was NYC, and when something went down, you had to step up.
My sister’s friend’s date shrunk back, holding an umbrella, and said “stop, stop, violence is not the way”, or something like that. In a few seconds it was all over, no one was hurt. The other guys decided they didn’t want to get in a knock down drag out over nothing, and maybe get arrested, they apologized in a grumbling way, my sister’s honor was upheld, and we all went about our business.
At the end of the night the date went on his way and my sister’s friend went back with us, as she lived near my sister. She said that she was outraged that when push came to shove, he acted like a wimp. She said she was not going to see him again.
That’s when I realized that even prep-school progressive yuppy democrat kumbaya women despise a wimp. You may be on to something.
