Thomas Duncan’s “family”? is coming out of quarantine with much much media fanfare
All the coverage must be for our dear leader’s benefit since he pretty much JVed the deadly virus, welcomed it across our borders and continues to minimize any risks.
This all is his planned October Surprise. Just imagine how good obama would look to voters and the world if those careless stoopid health care workers had not gotten infected. Just how did the “family” not get infected?
This whole thing stinks worse than BENGHAZI.

He’s definitely the most “at risk” person out there ,, Nina is a super cutie and I’m sure that he was in full direct sweaty contact with her.

Agree wholeheartedly. Ron Klain was selected as the Ebola Czar for one reason, to control what the media puts out about this deadly virus and what is happening in the US. Otherwise, Obama would have done the correct thing and selected a true MD to be the Czar. Even Dr. Frieden is not a true doctor in the sense that he does not have a current medical license to practice. All of this is insane run by an insane narcissist President.

The CDC has changed their tune, now workers can have "no exposed skin". But after some more workers get infected, they will have to admit that workers need sealed suits. What we have learned from the Patrick Sawyer case and the Thomas Duncan case is that the risk increases greatly as a patient starts spewing blood.

The problem is that in Duncan's case we had a small test sample size. Basically the GF Troh and her daughter Youngor Jallah. There's decent chance none of the others touched Duncan. Also Jallah did her homework and disinfected the best she could after Duncan left the apartment so that prevented any lingering fomite infections.

Well, the best thing to do about this is just wait, until well after any logical quarantine period should end. That may be just all it is. However, I would say that if he does have it and that fact is being hidden, especially like until some time after the election, then there would be something very rotten in Denmark.

We’ll see.

The government’s reactive position on all of this Ebola is disconcerting at best.
The disinfection of sidewalks in front of Duncan’s stay at was juxtaposed by lax protocol. Nurses got sick over protocol??? Blaming them. How about seal the border as true protocol Mr. pResident

I just heard on Fox News that he has been hospitalized. They’re reporting it as news, not as rumor.

She wasn’t all that ill when hospitalized, I don’t think? Just genera flu-like symptoms. Elevated temperature, aches, chills. All I can think is that it’s more transmissible in early stages via sexual contact.

She had symptoms that you get in the initial PHASE..same as what the government said Amber Vinson had before she flew back to Dallas and perhaps before she flew to Ohio.

A smart nurse, who had treated an Ebola patient, would be concerned that she had Ebola.

Nina did the right thing.

Amber Vinson did not.

I think there is a good possibility that Nina might not have had sex with her boyfriend waiting out the period..but that is merely a complete guess. She seems responsible and it would be the smart thing to do .

If Vinson’s family comes down with it we will know the answer as she told her family she couldn’t hug or kiss them and stayed to herself most of the time..

We were getting more news about what really went on with Vinson’s behavior before Trial Lawyer Billy Martin got involved.

Now they say she was not careless in any way.

This morning Dallas talk station WBAP said the 21 day quarantine period for them is over, no one infected.
Ironic since the World Health Organization said it can actually last up to 42 days in someone, in around 2% of the cases.

I agree with all of that. The "NBC photographer" in Liberia (actually a leftist activist) was probably infected by splashback hosing off a car. The emphasis on protocol was simply a distraction away from the inadequate PPE.

In network management for security we might cut off IP's for entire countries if there were attacks originating from part of the country. It is pretty crude and easy to get around, but we do it for the right reasons. It is no different in meat space, if there is an attack of disease, you stop it from coming the best that you can, not perfectly, but enough to greatly reduce the risk.

Supposedly, he hasn't been back to work.

I've heard this same detail about the second nurse's fiancé.

What the WHO says is that 95% fall within the 1-21 day interval, and 98% fall within the 1-42 day interval, so even 42 days leaves 2% unaccounted for. Yet, in the same document the WHO still calls 21 days the maximum incubation period.

This makes no sense to me unless there’s some uncertainty about when people were exposed that is figuring into the percentages somehow.

We should certainly be careful about spreading rumors, but nobody seems to know the boyfriend's location or condition.

Fox News this morning (Oct 20) reported that he was "showing symptoms". They didn't give his location.

Don’t believe anything before Ron Klain denies it or you see it in the British press.

If he was diagnosed and the nurses and staff were treating him, it would be leaked about ten minutes after it happened.

I have seen nurses disclose stuff a lot less inflammatory than that.

This is not something they “could” effectively cover up in a public hospital.
