Health officials in Ohio are monitoring more than 100 people following the visit by a Dallas nurse who tested positive for Ebola shortly after returning to Texas from the Cleveland area.
Officials stressed Saturday that none of those being monitored are sick.
State officials had announced on Friday that 16 people Amber Vinson had contact with were being monitored.
Officials say the sharp increase is a result of the identification of airline passengers who flew with Vinson between Dallas and Cleveland and the identification of people who also visited the dress shop where her bridesmaids were trying on dresses.
Vinson's stepfather remains quarantined in his home in the Akron suburb of Tallmadge - where Vinson stayed during her trip - and is the only person in the state under such restrictions.

A dead nurse is just a story. A dead producer is a reality catastrophe

Sad, but true.
ISIS could crucify Christians, burn them alive in their churches, and kidnap hundreds of Christian girls to sell into slavery,.....and...it is just a story on a back page.
Lop off the head of a journalist or two and that deserves a war.
Normalcy bias.
Yep. And, the news of the beheading of American, on our own soil, has been swept under the MSM’s rug.
Nancy Snyderman and her crew were told to self-quarantine, and she knowingly broke that.
In Amber Vinson’s case, we have yet to have the solid facts on what happened. The CDC has shown that it wants to deflect blame, including that it said she shouldn’t have flown back when they permitted her to. That much is known, even though I’ve read she talked to the Dallas hospital, I believe, and they talked to the CDC. And even at the point when what we heard was that her only symptom was a 99 degree temp AND the CDC had allowed her to fly, people were still calling her selfish, even though there had to be symptoms for her to be contagious. The government deals with measures to keep the disease from spreading, as well as the fear of it from spreading, and it hasn’t gotten either right so far. I’ve wondered too if the disease isn’t more dangerous in the latter stages, so it would have made sense to quarantine HCW who cared for such a patient.
Imagine how this story will change if even one of those nurses dies. It will go to a whole new level of bad and the national panic will reflect that.
The board of nursing in Texas prohibits nurses from practicing who are irresponsible with their knowledge of infection control
Any nurse having had close proximity to Ebola knows not to spread it
She can run around for the next twenty years trying to blame everyone else. But anyone who doesn’t like govt interference knows that we’ll have to use our brains and quit blaming them
And that with Obama in charge we’ll have to think a lot more clearly than this to get through the onslaughts to come in the next few years and that professionals had better act more responsible than this professional nurse
She’s going to be extremely lucky if she lives.
Not counting on it. As it looks now, they are going to follow orders and head to their own demise fighting Ebola in Africa on the front lines.
Hey Obama, be a MAN - Implement a travel BAN!
Do you see her race having anything to do with all this, and if so, how?
I have not considered that.
And from what you’ve seen, has her race been at all a factor in the responses of other people to her, in your opinion?
And if you do think so, how?
It hasn’t occurred to me.
If she gets some kind of pass for being black< I am not aware of it. But the virus won’t be prejudiced. It’ll attack her sorry BF and her family, retail workers, fellow travelers and ‘friends’ just the same
And what are your beliefs on black Americans in general?
My beliefs on Black people?
what kind of a question is that?
My belief is that God created all people to know Him love Him and serve Him so they can be with Him in Heaven.
Black people, just like any one else He created.
Why would I have an opinion about black people?...in general?
