Bush Didn’t Lie.So Why Did His Admin Sit on the Evidence of Saddam Hussein’s WMDs?
National Review ^ | October 18, 2014 | DeRoy Murdock

New media accounts — including coverage by NRO’s Patrick Brennan — confirm what I repeatedly have written since the depths of Operation Iraqi Freedom: The late dictator Saddam Hussein did have weapons of mass death, and the United States of America was correct to invade Iraq, find these toxins, and destroy them. Also vital: padlocking this Baathist general store for militant-Islamic terrorism.

As I explained on July 17, 2006:

While the liberal press gently sleeps, evidence continues to mount that Hussein had WMDs, though perhaps not in quantities that would bulge warehouses.

“Since 2003 Coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent,” states a June 21 declassified summary of a report from the National Ground Intelligence Center. “Despite many efforts to locate and destroy Iraq’s pre-Gulf War chemical munitions, filled and unfilled pre-Gulf War chemical munitions are assessed to still exist.

Democrats in the Pentagon and State Department withheld the information to hurt Bush.

IT WAS KARL ROVE: Rush said yesterday it was Karl Rove who made the decision to “drop it”... “Just let it go”.... “don’t stir up the liberal press again”.

First of all, Bush’s communication guy Is/was a DEMOCRAT...I forget his name....he’s with No Labels now...POS......PLUS Laura Bush is a DEMOCRAT....pure and simple......and husbands listen to their wives, even when they are wrong.....it’s why they marry. Bush was WAY more conservative than his aides and Laura.....he was PRO-LIFE all the way......not easy when you are surrounded by ABORTION LOVING FEMALES like his wife and daughters and MOTHER!!!

Well, in 1980, he worked very hard to defeat Ronald Reagan’s attempt to gain the nomination of the Republican party. He was working for the Rockefeller wing even then. After Reagan secured the nomination, there is no record of him working for Reagan in Texas, although he claims now that he did. That’s the earliest example I know of about his anti-conservatism.

There’s a big difference between a whining and whimpering Jimmy Carter and speaking truth to the issues of the day in a dignified and serious manner. GW should act like an elder statesman and speak out with cogent and sage sincerity against the forces that are destroying our country today. He would be listened to. And that’s what real statesmen do. Check your history.

The discussion refers to GW not his father GHW, just so we’re all on the same page.

Just my theory; revealing details about the WMD’s would have meant revealing the origin countries of the material. Also the countries that helped the development. These may have included the British, French, Germans and even us. That would have been embarrassing and threatened the “coalition”. Worst of all might have been Russian involvement and we could learn a lot more by keeping quiet. Again, just my theory.

Bush Didn’t Lie So why did his administration sit on the evidence of Saddam Hussein’s WMDs?

because

THE US and Britain sold Saddam Hussein the technology and materials Iraq needed to develop nuclear, chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction.

True. And when evidence was presented, the liberals declared it invalid because it was old, didn’t count (because they didn’t want it to) , or even that WE gave it to Saddam. They said anything to increase the narrative that ‘Bush lied’.
The old adage of never wrestle with a pig applies.

GW is a human punching bag, too weak to even defend himself

Right on bro! In fact, it's been Bush's fault that my lawn has been taken over by some clover type weed. And it's Bush's fault that my old Honda Del Sol started rusting out around the rear quarter panels and I finally had to sell it.

And I don't even want to get into how it's Bush's fault that my cat is now coughing up hairballs when she never used to before..........

A pox on Bush!

If only McCain had won the 2000 primary...........

How thick were the skulls of Bush’s political advisers not to see the importance of presenting this information amid deafening shouts that the president and those of us who supported Operation Iraqi Freedom were a pack of filthy liars?...one can never overestimate the ability of the Kick Me party to fail to defend its own policies and members......
