Bingo. Excellent question.

“Do we know if he is a citizen?”

Nope.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/to-your-health/wp/2014/10/15/little-mentioned-patient-at-emory-expects-to-be-discharged-very-soon-free-from-the-ebola-virus/

The Ebola-stricken aid worker arrived in Atlanta from West Africa on a specially equipped “air ambulance” Sept. 9. The patient was driven from the airport to Emory University Hospital, then whisked into a state-of-the-art isolation and treatment facility.

The hospital declined to release any further information, citing confidentiality policies. There was no mention of where or how this person had become infected, or who this person was working with in West Africa, or where the patient was from. The patient has never been identified publicly.

Emory also remained tight-lipped about how the patient was doing, declining for five weeks to provide any updates.

Since the IRS enjoys stealing our hard earn money. Wouldn’t it be better if we spread the Obola’s money to the IRS?

There’s no vector to get it into wild animals even if it could reside there. The reservoirs in Africa infect themselves, people don’t infect the reservoirs.

There is such a small sample size of human carriers, that there is no way to know this, and I hope the CDC and others are being more responsible than to just assume that. In addition, ecosystems outside of Africa are sufficiently different that we even if we were sure that what you say is true for Africa (and we certainly cannot be), it cannot be assumed that the same would hold true for these entirely new ecosystems.

Just think how many little cuts scratches we all have. .sometimes without even being aware of them.

Hence my micro-dermabrasion rants. Nurses all over the world are getting this faster than family members. What do nurses and doctors do when they clock in? Get assigned to a patient, go to the scrub-up near that room, scrub off skin and make tiny abrasions, open the door, adjust the exam light overhead, put on their gloves.

I think the exam lights are the major vector, constantly being adjusted by each HCW while the patient coughs, sneezes, breathes on them 24/7.

Some tv show needs to get these doctors who were alarmed a few weeks ago on how this was being handled and interview him. I think the Doctor’s name was Mobley.

Maybe in Vermont. Flu season in Texas begins after Thanksgiving, ramps up after Christmas and ends around Easter.

Dallas is an eastern seaboard liberal city plopped in the middle of the Texas plains. All the conservatives moved to Highland Park (city inside of Dallas, but not part of its schools) or the northern suburbs.
Fort Worth is still conservative.

Day after tomorrow, we're taking a road trip from Kalifornia to Houston for a large wedding reception affair.

Last night, wifey was on the phone with her BFF (it's their daughter who got married) who reported that quite a few of the family have actually cancelled their flights and will forego the festivities.

. I don’t think one can say with any reasonable certainty that humans cannot pass the virus to animals. Not at all.

The main vector to the wild would be through our waste to scavengers. *So it’s good that winter is coming as the cold temps will degrade the virus.

In case anyone still trusts what the gov says:
According to flu.gov: “ In the United States, flu season occurs in the fall and winter. Seasonal flu activity usually peaks in January or February, but it can occur as early as October and as late as May.”

The African reservoir always contains the viruses, there is no need or vector for humans, the only receive the virus. That's how it worked for thousands of years before Ebola was identified in 1976. There is no indication of a suitable host for a reservoir here and no way to infect that host.

But more to your point, malaria, yellow fever, and many other "tropical" diseases were endemic in north america from Florida to the Arctic in their respective reservoirs. Deer can certainly carry malaria spread by mosquitoes and ticks. But we wiped them all out by finding the reservoirs and exterminating them. Some times that was difficult but with ebola it will not be difficult. Not only did we wipe out malaria, etc but we wipe it out again every time it reappears here thanks to unlucky travelers, unlimited immigration, etc.

Ebola will be no different IF it gets into the wildlife (but as I said, it won't)
