Sen. Ted Cruz is one of very few articulate politicians that can talk to the average American and make sense. He's not a PC political hack. Leading from the rear is NOT leadership, President Obama.

“The alternative is to leave a hard liberal with delusions of Godhood in power.”

The problem is, no matter what we do, there is a 99% percent chance that is going to be the outcome anyway. So you are basically proposing we risk all the outcomes that I enumerated, for almost no chance of avoiding what you claim to want to avoid.

“We have to stop thinking solely in terms of ‘winning’ when that win only worsens the problems. We have to start thinking in what will fix this mess, or more realistically, what will BEGIN the path of fixing this mess.”

Okay, but I haven’t heard you propose anything that might begin to fix it, you are just proposing a fantasy that accomplishes nothing, because it might make us feel like we are doing something.

“Continuing to make excuses for why something ‘can’t’ be done is not going to do anything but assist the left in finishing us quicker.”

They aren’t excuses, they are pragmatic realities. A sitting president has not been forcibly removed from office in the entire history of the United States, and it has never even been attempted by the route you are proposing. Not to mention, such a route would entail basically skirting the intent of the amendment in order to even attempt it, based upon a pretense that only even a minority of the Republican party would accede to. It’s pure fantasy that this would ever yield the result you hope for.

“Yoda logic works. Do or don’t do. There is no try. This, as are most issues, is binary. We either fight out 2 years (at least depending on how badly he decides to cling to power) with Barry, allowing a wannabee deity free reign via the GOP funding/inaction, or we fight it.”

No, it’s not even binary. We don’t have a choice. We can only fight Barry for 2 years, because he is the President we have, and barring some unforeseen circumstance, he’s the only one we are going to get until 2016. It seems like instead of accepting that fact, and thinking of ways we can limit the damage he can do, you just want to fantasize that we can undo the results of an election through some Hail Mary play.

“No failure on our part will result in more evil than he has planned for us to begin with. Ergo there is no downside.”

Yes, our failure could result in more evil. I just demonstrated in my last post how it could lead to more evil, even a 3rd term of Obama. Is that not evil? You want to enable him to serve a third term, by our doing?

“We aren’t at that point yet. Close though. But if we can’t even act on the constitutional provisions that George gave us to fix exactly this situation/A25”

#1.. George didn’t give us Amendment 25, but that’s not important. What is important is #2, the people who wrote Amendment 25 never intended it to be used in this kind of situation. No medical doctor has assessed Obama as being incapable of serving, it’s simply your subjective opinion, based on an obvious rationalization that it might be a way to get around the fact that impeachment won’t work. Yet, impeachment is really the true remedy they gave us to fix this exact situation, not A25. If we could impeach him, it might be worth a shot, but we can’t. Neither can we gain anything by your rather imaginative, but ultimately pointless, proposal.

That’s really our best case scenario, make him a long term sitting duck, and limit the damage he can do to the powers of the Executive branch.

We may as well agree to disagree because I pretty much completely am on the opposite universe to everything you suggest.

Your proposals come down to ‘hide in a corner and pray’. Mine are enact the 25th as it was intended. Granted, it came after GW. That was hyperbolie. but it is in fact the constitutional remedy and any argument against it is simply an argument to do nothing.

He is unable/unwilling to discharge his duty. 100% Fact.
The Constitution gives us A25 as a direct remedy. 100% Fact.

We have a constitutional solution for the exact issue at hand. Oppose it or don’t. your call.

Gerald Ford.

With regard to impeachment ...

Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States

A25 is valid in my book and should be used now.

This creature that is sitting in the oval office has lost it.

We will have to rely on Boehner to man up and there may be a BIG problem there

Do it and let the chips fall where they may.

Did You Know We Already Had an Ebola Czar?

...There is a woman, her name is Dr. Nicole Lurie.  There is an office at Health and Human Services that was set up ten years ago, George W. Bush Regime, created and paid for a brand new office at Health and Human Services specifically to coordinate preparation for and response to things like Ebola

....this department funded another project in a company with huge ties to a Democrat donor, Ron Perelman, and took money away from a company that was developing a treatment now being used on Ebola patients.

So another department set up for crony corporatism, ostensibly a division of HHS to deal with outbreaks of killer diseases, and the budget for that department was used to pad a Democrat donor and his company, and the money that was given to the Democrat donor came from grants supposedly to go to a company working on an actual cure for Ebola or a serious treatment.

At least we could laugh at Joe’s gaffes. Nothing about the Obama and his evil cabal is remotely funny.

The very second he were to ever launch those charges if the second he’s ended his aspirations for president. No one that I can recall with presidential aspaspirations has pressed the nuclear button and made the office

Some things are more important than one mans presidential intentions. By your name I assume you are a Marine. If you were willing to give your life to save this country, I think others can do far less than give their life to do likewise.

He can do a better job as president. He gets things done. It is pointless to even try to unseat Obama. The Senate would never vote for it. Unless it was done yesterday, those Dems up for re-election would never support his impeachment. They would risk their seats by going up against Obama. We all know it needs to be done. It isn’t going to happen. The best we can hope for is a majority control of the Senate. Even then, I doubt many Dems would risk the ire of the victim class; it would be political death to do so.

Biden would be much better than Obama. There are a few reasons why Obama is allowed to be as horrible as he is, and they don’t seem to apply to Biden.

We need a public health physician to contain and vanquish Ebola....not a dunce like Obama. Obama is thinking of shipping Ebola victims from Africa to the US for treatment.

I understand what Cruz is saying but to expect good and constructive leadership from Obola is foolish. He just isn’t interested in it. It does not fit his agenda of hatred and punishment of the United States. The man is warped.

Please call congress and tell them that we must be deadly serious about containing Ebola by strict quarantine within the United States and from infected nations. This is our right and our duty and it is THEIR duty to protect US.

Capitol switchboard is 202-224-3121 or Google your congressman or senator and get his contact information and call him / her office directly. You can also call or go to their local offices.

I believe decisive response is urgent because you can’t put this Ebola genie back in the bottle once it gets out. It is a fire, it consumes all the fuel it can get and the fuel is people. The only way to stop a fire is to block it from the fuel or cool it with water. A vaccine or medicine to treat Ebola would be the water and we don’t have reliable, enough or any.

Every possible measure must be taken to stop the spread before draconian measures are imposed. What is being done now is sloppy. We are walking a dangerous road. The threat is blossoming by the day if not hour. Almost every hour there is some new Ebola development and none of them are good. This is a serious and potentially deadly event. Unchecked it could destroy or weaken the United States and facilitate our destruction by others. It has that potential for every country and that is why so many are responding with such strict quarantines. These consequences, no matter how small the probabilities, demand a full effort and significant response.

Ebola is being spread here in the United States right now. First Texas, then Ohio then? Terror is an excellent weapon. It disrupts, confuses, paralyzes and destroys a society. Many others and we on FR have speculated that terrorists may spread Ebola. How do you that remember 9/11 feel right now compared to what you felt then? Do you want to gather your loved ones near you to protect them? I do. Even more than I did on September 11, 2001! Isn’t this passive response by this administration accomplishing the very same things a terrorist would want?
When something is being done that makes as little sense as what Obama is doing there has to be some other reason. I leave it to you dear reader to draw your own conclusions as to the reasons.
What is happening now is insane. It makes no sense at all. For example the head of CDC says: “Stopping travel from Africa won’t do any good because you have to get people into Africa to fight Ebola.” “You can’t get Ebola from an infected person on a bus but an infected person should never be on a bus because he can infect others.” “Blocking travel from infected countries would damage their fragile economies.” What about ours? What about our safety? What about resources we have paid for that should be protecting us?

Even the most despotic dictatorship in Africa has acted to protect his nation by strict quarantine and stopping travel from infected countries. Even CDC, the UN and WHO advocate and credit strict quarantine for nipping the spread of Ebola in the bud at the source in places like Senegal and Nigeria where both have had faster and more successful outbreak controls than we have had here. 35 countries have stopped travel of people from infected West African countries. It is so obvious even a child could understand it so why is it OK for people from infected countries to travel here?
I will post this message and keep posting it until someone stops me.
