Neil Young: Al Qaeda More Moral Than US Army Because of Smaller Carbon Footprint

The Neil Young tour buses

If only the Nazis had pursued a smaller carbon footprint, Neil Young would have joined the party. He had to settle for joining the Green Nazis.

In an interview with radio shock-jock Howard Stern, Canadian rocker Neil Young suggested a fight against the Islamic State (ISIS) is not worth the release of greenhouse gases from military vehicles.

“And yet we are fighting what? ISIS…al-Qaeda. And we are fighting these wars against these organizations and their carbon footprint has got to be like 1% of our huge army and our navy and all of this stuff that have with all our big machines. We’re doing more damage to the earth with our wars.”

Young doesn’t appear to be particularly interested in the genocide ISIS is committing. But when you’ve decided that the real problem is that the sky is falling, why waste your concern on a few thousand people being beheaded, butchered and raped.

Speaking of the release of gases, Neil Young appears to be on a tour going from California to Iceland to Liverpool, Monte Carlo and then back to Philly. (He did however cancel his stop in Tel Aviv.)

I wonder what the carbon footprint of an international music tour for a celebrity looks like compared to say… Al Qaeda.

While Neil Young spoke to a Calgary news conference at the Jack Singer Concert Hall prior to his Sunday night show, five rock star-style motorhomes were left running outside, spewing fumes into the Calgary air, even though they were mostly unoccupied.

Inside the concert hall, the 68-year-old rock ‘n’ roll legend was talking about the “elephant in the room,” which he later explained was man-made global warming. The only elephant I could see was his enormous carbon footprint and his even bigger hypocrisy between his walk and his talk.

But Neil Young’s Carbon Jihad gets even better…

I knocked on the doors of all of the buses, rented or leased from Florida Coach Luxury Design and Leasing, and only one was opened by a young man who introduced himself as a cook. The chef explained that the motorhomes, must be kept running to run the equipment aboard.

Maybe it’s time for Neil Young to walk the walk and join Al Qaeda for its smaller carbon footprint.

I read a couple of bios on Neil. They agreed that Neil is a difficult person to get along with and can be mean and cruel to people. He also has been described as always changing his mind. I gather he will hear someone railing on some issue, then go along with that person. Then when another person advocates a different position, he will go a long with that. I suspect like most lo-fo voters, he takes a position without doing any independent research on his own.

Just my take — but I think he supported President Reagan because for him the economy at that time was good to him. He made some serious money in the late 80s.

As a southerner I beg to differ although your point is valid too...my dad died of brain tumor...trust me...I get it

Neil much like most folks north of the Ohio enjoys pointing the finger at others malfeasance....used to be racist southerners...then Ohio national guard.... then MTV.....now earth polluters and US Army

He’s always got a boogieman

BTW...Young was never the doper Crosby was by any stretch nor did he appreciate psychedelics much like Graham Nash did

He was very influential in country based rock that grew out of Buffalo Springfield...I loved most of his music

But he’s a weirdo...no question

Creative people are frequently odd and self obsessed which is why so many go emotive libtard on issues

Plus....NFL ain’t from around here anyhow

-— His guitar playing is dirt. -—

I love his playing on “Like a Hurricane.” I think it’s genius. A guitar player I knew told me it was just a mess 8-)

“Creative people are frequently odd and self obsessed which is why so many go emotive libtard on issues”

BINGO!
When I first moved to NH, one of my college buddies, who worked in Boston lived with a couple guys that were going to the Berkley School of Music in Boston. They were both excellent musicians. They both could play multiple instruments. They were also both a pair of very odd ducks.

This also goes for the actors/drama types. Think back to your high school days. Try to remember if you can the guys & girls that were big in the school plays. I recall one guy in particular. He was always hanging out with all the chicks. He was decent looking and he could sing well. He probably was also a little light in the loafers. These are the type of guys/girls that go on to be Hollywood actors and actresses. They are also strange ducks. They are kind of weird. So when they give their opinions regarding politics, they are almost always VERY liberal.

I *will* say it is authentic for the material he writes, and as such, it works. That’s an assessment independent of my particular taste buds.

When I am listening to a Ventures ‘60’s surf tune, I don’t want to hear Segovia or Joe Pass or Pat Metheny or Van Halen or Hendrix.

Context. I’ll give Neil Young credit for creating larval grunge music, it’s just not much my cup o’tea.

“I think he does live there. I do know he left his wife of 30 something years for another moonbat, Daryl Hannah.”

Most of that is not true, and the truth is WORSE. He was married to some actress that gave up her career just to be available to him. They had a child with a severe disability, a son I think. He apparently developed some idea that this was somehow her fault - and kicked both of them out of his life. She died recently (Carrie Snodgrass I think was her name). He married another woman, had another child with the exact same condition. I don't know if he stayed with her or not, but he most certainly treated his first wife and child like dirt. Even as batshit crazy as Daryl Hannah, I don't think she was ever mixed up with him. And I think Jackson Browne used her as a punching bag, she's stayed off musicians.

Young wasn't married to Carrie. They lived together. Carrie was the mother of Zeke, Neil's first son. I do believe that Neil and Zeke are now close. For some time Zeke would travel with his father when he was touring. I think Zeke has a wife and family of his own now. Not sure if he still travels with his father.

There was a first wife named Susan I think. Don't recall much about her except that she and Neil did not have children.

The story going around is that Neil and Darryl are now dating...that he left his second wife, Pegi, for her. But you may be right. Who knows what the real story is?

The only thing I know for sure is that Carrie gave some interviews before her death that were NOT flattering to the image Neil Young has tried to create.
