EBOLA NIGHTMARE: 'The Entire City Is Covered With Bodies'
Yahoo/New York Times ^ | 10/16/14 | Ben Soloman

Racing along cracked and bumpy roads here, Gordon Kamara shouted into his cellphone over the shrieking sirens of his ambulance. The phone had been ringing nonstop since 5 a.m.

“Not today! Not today!” Mr. Kamara, an ambulance nurse, yelled later in the day. “We are on the opposite side of town!”

The calls have all been the same in recent weeks: from friends, friends of friends, extended family, complete strangers. All of them have loved ones sick with Ebola and beg him to come quickly. Seven days a week, Mr. Kamara and his crew span Monrovia, Liberia’s capital, in a donated, old American ambulance — with California license plates still attached.

“It never stops,” said Mr. Kamara, getting another call the moment he hangs up.

The 15 or so ambulance teams bolting around the city have had many days of hard choices like this. Hundreds of new Ebola cases are reported each week in Monrovia, with many more never accounted for. And over the course of the epidemic, only a small percentage of them have ever made it to a hospital.

Funny how they don’t apply their “for the greater good” philosophy to this situation, isn’t it?

They should be kept in, but we should also provide help.
It’s in our best interests to put the fire out as soon as possible.

Here is a more realistic look at the city Duncan left to come to the US. Monrovia didn’t get this way in a few weeks. The virus has been ravaging it for months. Duncan’s particular neighborhood was especially hard hit. Whoever is telling you otherwise has an agenda. I would stop listening to them.

I do agree that the CDC is disastrously wrong in its response to Ebola. So you are right; we do see eye to eye on that.

Liberia recently stopped allowing photos of EVD victims, bodies in streets, etc without gov approval. Closed one major newspaper as well to warn the others.

Sierra Leone might not be so tragically photogenic, having a smaller outbreak but the only news site I’ve found is Aroko which seems like a state organ. Left top corner has perpetual “How well do you like your government?” Poll.

I hope that the governors stop the National Guards in their states from going.

Some of the best and most patriotic Americans belong to the guard and those are the people Hussein wants to eliminate.

From the sounds of this story, there could be 4500 bodies lying on the ground in Monrovia just as I type this out.

My belief is that our military is being sent over there for burial/disposal detail.

Shouldn’t we be studying why he has not become infected? And perhaps using his blood plasma as he CLEARLY has some form of immunity.

I’m not implying that the Ebola epidemic isn’t as bad as the WHO says it is. I think it’s worse, and the projections I’ve published in FR indicate that. However, I just noticed something curious... With all these reports of bodies lying in the streets, why aren’t we seeing any pictures? We see pictures of corpses beheaded by ISIS, so I don’t think it’s the “ick” factor.

Why would this be?

Sadly, there are many stories like the one you describe as:
"... a person who died of ebola and their body remained in the street in that country over in Africa for a few days..."

This one was posted today:

This could easily spin out of control based on these politician’s actions and result in millions of deaths or billions. It is simple math. Putting US aside for a minute — this may take root in south America and India and just wipe those countries out. Right now I see nothing stopping a worldwide pandemic unless they quarantine those countries - NOW

Any rational Liberian with a passport and a credit card would try to get to the West. Soon commercial air service will stop because the airports will be besieged by desperate people trying to get out.

The second sentence reads like a prophecy describing America when this malevolent regime decides to seal the borders.

"It should have been contained."

So should AIDS.

And it is NOT being contained for the same reason.....political correctness.

For AIDS...homosexuality, for Ebola..."being black". After all, we just can't stop or slow down the influx of black Africans to the US just because they are infected with a fatal and highly contagious illness.

‘Not only that, did vultures or dogs go after it? That’s kind of morbid but it makes me wonder.’

I have seen pictures of Liberian dogs devouring dead bodies. Dogs can carry the Ebola virus but are themselves unaffected by it.

I am guessing, Obama is thinking the National Guard/Military are just a bunch of Bible/Gun clinging Repubicans who are expendable because they won’t be voting Dem anyway.

It certainly is an ethical dilemma and I do wish to be Christian.

I always think of airline instructions: if the cabin looses pressure and the masks come down, parents must put their own on before helping their children.

Self-sacrifice would create far worse consequences.
