CHICKASHA, Okla. – Lunch meat, a couple of crackers, a slice of cheese and two pieces of cauliflower qualified as lunch in Chickasha Public Schools Monday.

Chickasha lunchStudent Kaytlin Shelton took a photo of the skimpy lunch and showed it to her parents.

“It makes me want to take that and take it to the Superintendent and tell him to eat it for lunch,” the girl tells Fox 25.

“I can go pay a dollar for a Lunchable and get more food in it,” her father, Vince Holton, says.

The new lunch complies with lunch regulations championed by First Lady Michelle Obama and implemented by the USDA.

In all my school years from 1952-1964 we had really good meals at school, EXCEPT at AZTEC,NM in 1956.

That was the worst I ever tried to eat, everyone was throwing it back up. It seemed to be some kind of horrid mac and cheese slop which sickened all the kids every day. I finally convinced mom to make me a lunch to take for school.

Hard to believe isn’t it? My public school hot lunches must have 700-800+ calories, and being an athlete, I sometimes ordered two!

Eva Braun means the best for all of us.

I think she's more along the lines of Elena Ceausescu.

I like to think of her as our own Eatey Aw-Mean.

No kidding-the construction business is slow right now, and I could use the extra money...

I grew up on a ranch, so I’ve eaten fresh, free range food all my life-I fed my kid the same way-made her lunch to take to school every day-private school-because she called the cafeteria food icky and all cooked too long, except for the chicken chop suey day-she did like that...

Back in the olden days if a kid did not like school food they could go across the street to the malt shop and buy a hamburger or hot dog.

Now with a closed campus they can’t escape.

The public school here is famous for turning out some of the most accomplished pharmaceutical researchers in AZ north of Phoenix. Some have gone on to research in prestigious locations like Los Angeles, NYC and even the bottom of the Colorado River. A while back I think one had studied extensively at the base of Parker Dam.

And I cry huge tears of pain and anguish that my daughter just wasn’t up to snuff... all because of my purist tendencies. If only I’d left her alone and she had finished her education in a proper school, who knows? She night have landed a good job in San Fernando’s burgeoning film industry or something.

Then there was a man I know who went to a one room school house. Every day his mom would make him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. He got so tired of them one day he decided he would steal some other kid’s lunch and have a feast.
One day he asked to go to the outhouse and as he passed the coat closet where the lunches were stored, he stopped and lifted each one, choosing the heaviest sack he could find. The then ran deep into the woods to have his feast.

When he opened the sack, he found....six hickory nuts and a hammer.

The intent is to make US kids as healthy as those in that wonderful socialist workers paradise called North Korea.

“that is criminal”

When I had a kid in school, it would have been-either that, or you sent a letter to the school telling them your kid would bring their lunch, or could go off campus to eat, if they were in HS...

Even in jail you get a better lunch than that.

Yeah....Chatsworth, California. So many industrial buildings, and so little clothing : )

There are no doubt monetary kickbacks going on. A ‘meal’ worth optimistically about 35 cents, where the food-service supplier bills the school at four bucks per pop at taxpayer expense, and the balance going right back into the corrupt democrat/union machine.

That's the game all right. And like all the save-the-earth skimping on products and packaging, liberals and their corporate crony spirit guides greedily pad their wallets by professing some higher cause.

Except for the two bits of raw cauliflower (!!?), everything on that tray is a highly processed frankenfood. The Keebler elves (and the processed cheese and processed ham companies) have their hands out too.

What do you figure that the ink required to print out the chemical bomb ingredient list weighs more than this "lunch"? Better dependency through chemicals... just don't get caught with a couple Tylenol or - gasp! - Chapstick! Zero tolerance..

Instead of this sad lunch, why not serve a small salad with ham, cheese, cauliflower and a few other veggies as toppings, and go easy on the dressing and croutons/crackers?

Having attended public school in the 80s myself, I was fortunate to get a good, well rounded Liberal educashin and That taught me something. There can be no greater love for a child by a parent than setting them on a path to a film career in the Valley. but you damn right winger clingers clouded my eyes and I failed her. I failed her miserably.

Never will she know the joys of standing on the stage at the AVN awards getting a “Best Actress in a group scene” award. Never will she kow it.

I blame you all. Damn you evil Freepers...Damn you.

And that cheap looking deli meat is likely full of harmful chemicals and/or loaded with salt.
