Small groups of Syrians are hunting down Islamic State fighters in one of their main strongholds in eastern Syria in a new guerrilla campaign that has emerged as a response to the Islamists' growing brutality.
The main aim is to generate fear in Islamic State's ranks, said the head of "White Shroud" - a group that says it has killed more than 100 Islamic State fighters in attacks in Deir al-Zor province in recent months

Doin’ the job that Obama won’t properly support....I say give the Kurds weapons and ammo and let them go to town. Aside from the Sunnis who are now joining ISIL for various reasons, the Kurds are the only ones willing to fight.
Anybody flying the black flag of jihad should be hunted down and killed, no matter where or when.
Just like they used to hunt down and kill other pirates at sea.

I think not.
According to military tradition, the Black Flag is the “Flag of No Quarter”; When an army put it up, it signaled the opposing force that if they did not surrender immediately and unconditionally, then in the ensuing combat surrender would not be an option; whoever lost would be slaughtered to the last man, but by the same token whoever flew the black flag expected no greater mercy if they failed to prevail.
Anyone who broke and ran would be pursued and hunted down relentlessly, with little hope of survival.
Another coincidence; contrary to popular folklore, most Pirates were (and still are) Muslim.
If the crew of a victim ship surrendered they would be enslaved, but if and once they resisted, they would typically be slaughtered, often in gruesome or tortuous fasion.
Typical Islamic tactics are still quite applicable to the Black Flag tradition.
It seems that the only civilizations that have successfully defended themselves against Islam have been those who have accepted the terms of the Black flag, taken no prisoners, and have dealt with the Muslims with the same ruthless savagery that they mete out to the civilized world.
Then again perhaps I’m wrong about that; keep trying to win their hearts and minds, pay your Jizya, and see how that works out for ya.

The Black Flag of Jihad was the origin of the familiar non-Muslim black pirate flags, borrowing its fearsome reputation to cow and terrorize targeted ships into surrendering without resistance.
Simply put, the Black Flag of Jihad is the black pirate flag of an evil pirate “religion.”

Syria's Assad brutality is now well documented in a report just released, but everyone knows the he and his brutal dad have tortured and murdered thousands of their own countrymen.
From what I gather from Veterans of the Sandbox, every fight over there is a fight to the death.
Have you noticed how few POWs there have been over the past several years of the “unending war” in the M.Ea.?
Apparently there is a reason for that.
Surrender is always an option for a defeated Jihadi; they know they can always be “exchanged” for a hostage or sprung by their buddies (including the one in our White Hut) at some point, but not for the American or Jew.
They know they will be violently raped, sodomized, tortured and in all likelyhood killed eventually anyway if they do surrender or are captured.
If your position is being over run, save the last round or the last grenade for yourself.
In Vietnam, it was not uncommon to call in an air or arty strike on your own position if they were getting the better of you; better to be blown to bits than endure what Charlie had in store for you if he could take you alive.
Even then, compared to Muslims, the Commies were relatively charitable.
A friend who fought in the Korean “Conflict” related as to how that’s the general philosophy they operated under, and some guys went so far as to write their name on a grenade to use in a last stand scenario.
They would pull the pin and roll over onto it in the end.
When in combat away from established higher command apparently it was not uncommon for enemy wounded or prisoners to be summarally shot, with the understanding that the G.Is would be treated the same way had things turned out differently.
“White Shroud” should not be advertizing their existence. They should simply be tending to business.
