That is a strange looking boat.
When I worked for Social Security in Tulsa, I met one of the captains in Kennedy’s squadron.
Naturally I asked him about Kennedy and we had a long conversation. He said they all liked him but he also said having your PT boat rammed by a ship was the worst thing that could happen to a PT boat commander.

I have seen a similar looking coast Guard vessel.
Somebody out there knows what it is called. I don't

It seems to me that ship is probably more for patrol purposes than battle. It may have some capacity for war, but I don’t think it is advanced enough to handle a real war.
It’s more likely that it can do patrol and supply or transportation of goods. Being unmanned would allow it to take quite the roundabout routes without having to be concerned about any person.

I find it hard to believe anyone calls this a SHIP.
It's a cool looking Patrol Boat.
And if they cost more than $10mil a copy we CAN"T USE THEM.

Lol.

John F. Kennedy became famous because of his heroics on the PT 109.No. He became famous because of a massive PR campaign.

So Basically the DO want to re-create the PT Boat.
Wood isn't magnetic and I would love to see a swarm of Dumb Torpedoes being fired at a modern warship.
Can Hack or Disable TNT with a Propeller.
Simplest is always the best.

Wasn’t there a picture of the future Navy with John Fraud skippering back in ‘04? The one with the wind in his hair.

“Heroics” is a pejorative term.
Leaving aside the question of how heroic JFK really was, the correct word in this context is “heroism,” not “heroics.”

It’s hard to detect via sonar.
Is that so that it will sink quietly?

That’s not a ship. That’s a boat. Boats are what ships carry.

Reminds me of the old PHMs, but without the 76mm or ASMs. An interesting propulsion testbed for sure, but some of the stated abilities seem to seriously overhyped.
And why does the name Gerry Anderson keep popping into my head?
