This is the Navy Warship of the Future

John F. Kennedy became famous because of his heroics on the PT 109. Maybe he could have become commander of the universe if he piloted the Navy warship of the future. It’s called The Ghost.

Built by Juliet Marine Systems, a private company in Portsmouth, N.H., it’s designed to fight swarm attacks, water-born IEDs, and, aargghh, piracy. According to Business Insider, “Ghost is intended to have zero radar signature, and the vessel is supposedly difficult for the enemy to spot, let alone target. The ship is nonmagnetic and hard to detect via sonar, making it ideal for infiltration and surveillance of enemy areas.”

That is a strange looking boat.

When I worked for Social Security in Tulsa, I met one of the captains in Kennedy’s squadron.

Naturally I asked him about Kennedy and we had a long conversation. He said they all liked him but he also said having your PT boat rammed by a ship was the worst thing that could happen to a PT boat commander.

No wonder the JFK myths stay alive.

In office 2-1/2 years. Accomplished more than Obama in 6 years. What he accomplished other than Bay of Pigs fiasco, is relatively unknown. But he did something to have his likeness on coinage, and have schools named after him. What it was, is unknown. So the less Obama achieves and the more he screws up, may see his likeness on coinage. Coins will be even more worthless than they are now. Of JFK's accomplishments, I think he banged Marilyn Monroe. As for Obama, he screwed all of us.

The election of JFK is what destroyed America.

His Navy “heroics” at the time should have actually been a court martial, instead his dad pulled strings to get him the Soldiers medal, or as the Navy calls it, the Navy and Marine Corps Medal, for non-combat heroism.

Yet this writer reinforces the idea of JFK as a great war hero.

Why bring up Obama when JFK is the subject?

It seems to me that ship is probably more for patrol purposes than battle. It may have some capacity for war, but I don’t think it is advanced enough to handle a real war.

It’s more likely that it can do patrol and supply or transportation of goods. Being unmanned would allow it to take quite the roundabout routes without having to be concerned about any person.

JFK, heroics, didn’t he put his boat in front of a ship getting it cut in two?

I find it hard to believe anyone calls this a SHIP.

It's a cool looking Patrol Boat.

And if they cost more than $10mil a copy we CAN"T USE THEM.

Yup, old man Kennedy had to make sure of the myth. At least JFK was reported to swim to save one of his crew. Better than Teddy.

The writer thinks that JFK could have commanded the Universe? He displayed his ability during the “Bay of Pigs” fiasco.

What it was, is unknown...

How about the program to land men on the moon in 10 years? That did a great deal for the United States.

You aren't one of those who believes that we did not go to the moon, are you?

Would it have made a difference if we didn't go???

Joe was supposed to the hero, and then the Senator. But he didn’t survive the war.

Montana Class Battleship. Had to go to Wiki to get the name but knew it was one up from the Iowa class. At least that is what I think it is.

John F. Kennedy became famous because of his heroics on the PT 109.

No. He became famous because of a massive PR campaign.
