A health care worker at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital has tested positive for Ebola after a preliminary test, the hospital said in a statement.
Confirmatory testing will be conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.
The employee helped care for Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person diagnosed with Ebola in the United States. Duncan died on Wednesday.

Let me get this straight...
I can sit on a bus next to an Ebola patient with no problem. But when the bus gets to the hospital, they’ll burn his clothes and wear hazmat suits around him.
Makes sense to me.
Hilarious but true

"So not only did they lie, they lied big time. Guess that protesting doctor in the Atlanta Airport was right after all."-Morpheus2009FoxNews Video: Dr. Gil Mobley on why the CDC is 'lying' about Ebola
These clowns used the expression “No need to PANIC”! The most brutal, ineffective, scary, press conference EVER!
I wonder why that shape shifter “Judge” has not been forced into quarantine? He was the smartass that went into that apartment and drove Duncan’s faux family to their new digs in a gated community.
So what is he doing out running around instead of in quarantine.
It is plainly stated that this is a nurse who treated Eric Duncan. He was at Presbyterian in Dallas. Same for the nurse. Same hospital released the statement.
Now see how many healthcare workers continue to show up for work
Was he telling anyone that he had Ebola? Nope. We all know he didn't say squat about the fact that he was infected with Ebola. He did NOT care about anyone except himself. He didn't even care about his "loving" family.
By his own admission he came to the USA because he figured he would get better treatment for his disease here and possibly live. Well I don't give a rat's ass about him or his family. Selfish, self-centered a**holes; the lot of them. In the old days... when Ebola was found in one of those African villages those villages were fire bombed and destroyed with everyone in them. Now we are playing patty cake with what is likely going to wipe out 1/4th's of the world's population.
The Kenyan occupying the White House migrated from Africa. The Ebola virus (from Africa) is no less destructive than he is.
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. (Revelation 6:8 KJV)
That’s what I was wondering — was this a nurse who saw him in the ER where he lied about his exposure, before his diagnosis, or was this one who treated him after isolation protocol was enacted? If in full protective gear, panic is warranted.
Where are his apartment companions and why aren’t they running fever yet?

This is a small price for Americans to pay in order to protect the Hundreds of dollars annually that the West African tourist industry brings into our economy.
From Pigs to Monkeys, Ebola Goes Airborne (Nov 2012!)

“The piglets were then placed in a room with four cynomolgus macaques, a species of monkey commonly used in laboratories. The animals were separated by wire cages to prevent direct contact between the species. Within a few days, the inoculated piglets showed clinical signs of infection indicative of Ebola infection.
In pigs, Ebola generally causes respiratory illness and increased temperature. Nine days after infection, all piglets appeared to have recovered from the disease. Within eight days of exposure, two of the four monkeys showed signs of Ebola infection. Four days later, the remaining two monkeys were sick too. “
3700 block of Marquita in Dallas was the info given at presser of the 2nd patient. Is that what you heard?
Am not current but because of FreeRepublic and the ‘Heroes’ (all here at FreeRepublic) will become current in my reading. Much appreciation for the information. All information is helpful.
“You know darn well he did not disclose that he had Ebola.”
How do you know that? He did tell the healthcare worker that he came from Liberia and he was exhibiting high fever.
As I heard in the news, this was NOT passed on to the doctor by the nurse or whoever interviewed him and he was sent home with antibiotics.
I can believe that he may have even said he may have ebola and the doctor petting him on the head, telling him not to be such alarmist, just take these nice antibiotics and go home.
This is a US failure to protect our borders from all enemies AND a failure of the US medical system — i.e. obamacare — to avoid treating people as much as possible.
As Red in Blue PA pointed out — in the press conference covered by FoxNews, they asked that question and the answer was that this particular health care worker was in the low risk pool, and ONLY saw the patient while covered in full Hazmat suit.
I saw the press conference as well and remember this clearly.
Patient cared for Duncan in second visit..was in full protective gear as recommended by CDC. Was considered low risk. Get ready for a healthcare worker strike.
The difference between American media’s breaking news reports and those of the British tabloids is that US publications wait for verification before running with rumors.
Different libel laws in the two countries. The Brits can run with rumor and get by with it, and those rumors are often proved true.
And much more fun to read.
Not what you want to believe, but truth nonetheless.
