For sure. Think they would let a citizen off with a two week suspension and apology?

The officer responsible should lose his job and be forced to pay back every dollar the taxpayers paid to train the dog over the years.

Local TAXPAYERS who PAID for the TRAINING of this dog need to be taking to the streets!
Of course, it’s sad that the dog died, but people REALLY need to hold their local Government ACCOUNTABLE.

The K9 units usually leave the engines running and the AC on. Was there a mechanical or personnel breakdown?

I would have loved to have been there to break the window and rescue the dog.

If that were you or me, it would be killing a cop. Automatic life sentence.

I read somewhere that animal cruelty is a felony in all 50 states now.

Can’t wait to see the reason why the dogs handler will not be charged.

If you or I killed a police dog, we would be beaten if not shot and then sent to prison.
When I policeman kills a police dog, he loses vacation time.

The officer should be locked in a hot car for four hours. If we’re going to make use of animals and put them in harm’s way for our purposes, the least we can do is care for them properly.
