New Fox News battleground polls show a Republican trend in the fight for the U.S. Senate. The GOP candidates -- helped by anti-Barack Obama sentiment and strong support from male voters -- lead in all five states: Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas and Kentucky.

The races, however, are still far from settled. None of the Senate candidates has a lead outside the poll’s margin of sampling error. And none of the front-runners hit the important marker of 50 percent support from their electorate.

Up six or seven points is not outside the margin of error? Odd.

I hope this trend continues. I also hope we don’t end up with a nailbiter than ends up going to recount. Because recounts never seem to work out for Republicans (Ask Dino Rossi and Norm Coleman about that, if’n ya’ll don’t believe me).

Thank Christ. I’ve never understood what the problem was with Pat Roberts? Sure, he’s older than Moses, but what vote did he make to get such vitriol?

I’m not a Kansan but I want Roberts to win. The man has an 85 percent rating (or maybe it’s higher?) with the ACU and if you don’t vote for Roberts, you’re voting for the continuation of Dingy Harry as Majority Leader.

The margin of error is 3.5. So if they remove 3.5 from each side. Equals 7. Just a guess. No stat/polling guru, though.

Frankly, so what? No matter what happens on election day, Obama will do what he wants to do, the federal courts will do what they want to do, and the GOP-e will go along with whatever the corporate elites prefer to see happen. This is just a game rigged against anyone who still cares about the country.

They are not figuring in what Mara Liasson referred to as ‘ the Dems ground game’, which most of us know as VOTER FRAUD.

Hopefully McConnell can lose but we get enough seats to still win the senate.

“but what vote did (Roberts) make to get such vitriol?”

Damned if I know. I researched his voting record and he’s one of THE most conservative members of the Senate. Yes, he’s 78, but he’s a dependable conservative vote. We need him.

If Republicans win Kansas in November, it’s going to be an absolute wave election

I’m sure this poll showing McConnell up (the second released this week showing this) will headline The “Curious” Journal like the one showing Grimes up did in tomorrow’s issue... (and yes - it was /sarcasm)

The margin of error is a statistical estimate. The trend is what matters more.

Indeed...we all are familiar with “King County” even if we’ve never set foot in Washington State.

Apparently the voters figured out that the “independent” really was no more than a democrat in independent’s clothes. Democrats generally have to lie the asses off to get anyone outside of their base (black, gay, union, parasite) to vote for them.
