Republicans: Campaign Like Your Kids’Lives Depend On It– Because They Do (Open Borders=Open Disease)
CHQ ^ | 10/6/14 | George Rasley

Posted on 10/06/2014 6:34:39 AM PDT by xzins

The news that Ebola may have been allowed into Washington, DC and that a case of deadly whooping cough has been diagnosed in a DC suburb* would have been enough to shake any normal American government into following our existing health and infectious disease laws for all immigrants and visitors to the U.S. and closing our county’s borders.

But the Obama administration is not a normal government.

As our friend Diana West wrote on these pages back in July, “A normal government -- one with the best interests of its own citizens at heart -- would have taken immediate steps to 1) halt these border crossings that pose a dire threat to public health and safety, and 2) set in motion the deportation efforts necessary to return these illegal aliens to their home countries.”

And it would prevent from entering this country those aliens who may have been exposed to Ebola, whooping cough, and the Enterovirus 68 that is sweeping the country paralyzing and killing children.

Strangely, few Republicans seem to have grasped the public policy and political implications of the Dallas and DC Ebola patients’ arrival and the Enterovirus 68 epidemic.

One of the few who does seem to get it is Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal.

Jindal, whose chief political gifts are his compelling “son of immigrants” biography, and the fact that he is usually the smartest guy in the room, has led the way for other Republican elected officials and candidates to step up and fight Obama’s wanton disregard for our immigration and health laws.

Gov. Jindal on Friday called on President Barack Obama to restrict air travel from Ebola-stricken countries to prevent the spread of the virus.

Jindal (R) blasted Obama's response to the United States' first case of Ebola, saying the administration must "stop accepting flights from countries that are Ebola stricken."

"President Obama said it was 'unlikely' that Ebola would reach the U.S.," Jindal said in a press release. "Well, it has, and we need to protect our people. But the Obama administration keeps saying they won't shut down flights. They instead say we should listen to 'the experts.'…How exactly would stopping the entry of people potentially carrying the Ebola virus be counterproductive? This seems to be an obvious step to protect public health in the United States," concluded Jindal.

The Obama administration, through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has rejected the idea of any travel ban, insisting that the chance of a widespread U.S. outbreak of the deadly pathogen is “remote,” according to the UK’s Daily Mail.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, whose state, The Daily Mail notes, has become “America's Ebola flashpoint,” wrote Thursday to the Federal Aviation Administration asking for “every available precaution in preventing additional cases from arriving in the United States.”

According to The Daily Mail, Cruz told the FAA “Due to the Obama administration's unclear approach to addressing the threat of the Ebola virus,' Cruz said in a statement, 'Americans – particularly the Texans who have possibly been exposed – deserve specific answers to how the administration is addressing travel to and from the countries impacted by the disease.”

Republican Texas congressman Lamar Smith (TX-21) added in his own statement that it would be “appropriate to review our policies for travel to and from the countries most affected by the Ebola outbreak.”

The practical result of Obama’s immigration policies toward the sources of Ebola, whooping cough and Enterovirus 68 is a life or death threat to America’s children.

Inexplicably, North Carolina Republican Senate candidate Thom Tillis is the only Republican Senate candidate we can find who has grasped that protecting Americans, and especially American children, from the looming health disaster of Obama’s lawless immigration policies is an important issue in the 2014 midterm election. Tillis demanded on Thursday a nationwide travel ban from the three hardest-hit Ebola hotspots: Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.

Tillis’ call for a travel ban shows that his campaign has grasped the political and policy implications of Obama’s disastrous failure to enforce our immigration and health security laws – it is time for the Republicans to drive the message home, close the deal with the “security Mom” vote and win the election.

Pertussis, commonly called whooping cough, was nearly eradicated in the U.S.. Now, for example in illegal immigration hotspot California, health officials have declared a pertussis epidemic. Almost 8,000 cases were reported through Sept. 2, including three fatalities and 267 cases serious enough to require hospitalization. All of the fatalities and 169 of the most serious cases involved infants less than four months old.

Liberals love to point to Ellis Island as their proof of the big hearted immigration past of America.

But when you dig around a bit, you discover that Ellis Island checked for disease and held diseased potential immigrants in quarantine.

Obama has ‘open borders on steroids’ with absolutely no checks.

Then he DISPERSES the disease around the country.

Disease the Illegal Aliens Brought

Thursday, October 2, 2014 18:15

(Before It’s News)

By Douglas V. Gibbs

When the Murrieta Immigration Protests in July were in full swing, and we were getting the attention of the media, I had two main talking points to throw out there before the reporters began asking me questions. First, my wife was born in Mexico, and her parents came to the United States legally when she was a child. Second, a part of the reason I got involved with the demonstrations in Murrieta was because my granddaughter, age three, had been diagnosed with hand, foot, and mouth disease, and the doctor made the comment that he was confused about why the formerly nonexistent disease in the Southern California city had suddenly appeared, and the number of cases was spiking.

“Immediately,” I told reporters, “I put two and two together and knew why our kids were getting sick.”

Aside from the new case of Ebola in Texas, disease is spreading through our country, and nobody is reporting where it is coming from. The news media keep calling it a “mysterious virus,” or a virus with an “unclear origin.” The presence of the enterovirus is not a mystery, but the reason it has suddenly sprung up, and is more dangerous than we’ve ever seen before, is.

It is being called Enterovirus 68, and after launching itself through school age children in Missouri, the illness has rapidly spread through the middle United States, and into the northeast where a child in Rhode Island has died from the disease. 42 States have now reported the presence of the disease.

The “mystery virus” causes a serious respiratory illness, and is believed to have played a role in a total of four deaths around the country. In the case of the Rhode Island death, the virus, combined with a bacterial infection, was more than the child’s body could handle.

First identified in the United States in 1962, the enterovirus has created havoc before, partly because its rarity leaves Americans with few natural immune system defenses to fight it off. In the past, the infection would act much like the common cold, but now the illness is much more severe, leading some children to need to be hooked up to oxygen, and even a breathing machine. In the Denver area, the virus is believed to possibly also be linked to muscle weakness, and paralysis.

The vast majority of children with the illness experience mild symptoms, and recover easily.

So why has the enterovirus emerged, and why is it that it did so in our schools? Is this just the unfortunate consequence of natural cycles, and it was time for the virus to make an appearance anyway? Or, was the disease brought into the United States from a place where the health care system is not as advanced as the American system by people who were not properly screened before entering the country?

In a conversation with a doctor I was seeing for therapy on my back recently, a man who immigrated to the United States legally and was encouraged by my participation in the Murrieta protests to stand against illegal immigration, he told me that the world is full of disease. Tuberculosis is present throughout the world, but in America it is all but gone. However, with the illegal aliens crossing the border comes disease. Tuberculosis. Hand, foot and mouth. Scabies. And the list goes on and on.

Is the appearance of these diseases at the same time the number of illegal aliens, particularly children from many points south of the border, coming across the border has increased drastically just a coincidence?

I don’t believe in coincidences.

Strange as it may be it is no surprise.

The GOP had better step the hell up and soon.

What makes anyone think that Republican candidates such as McConnell and Cochran will close the borders when the Chamber of Amnesty gave millions to their campaigns?

The next two elections should be the easiest elections Republicans ever face. But what should be and what is are two different things. Republicans have no concept of winning. Absolutely none.

A lot of hysteria and some of it is politically driven, but the facts is that everyday hundreds if not thousands of people deplane at Dulles after direct flights from West Africa.

Exactly. It’s almost funny to hear Republicans telling candidates to campaign on the very issues that we have been screaming about and to which they responded by spitting in our faces.

So true, republicans use to have a platform, they were suppose to stand on, gradually they abandon principle for the faux theory of bipartisanship, which means giving the democrats everything they want, there is no opposition republican party anymore.

They even brag in there campaigns how they will reach across the isle...disgusting!

This is far more than an election year indictment against Obama. This is about the lives of our kids....and ourselves.

Obama’s legacy will be that his policies unleashed the Pale Horse against the USA.

Do not hold your breath waiting for the Republicans to get tough re illegals—

The reason Republican Candidate Thom Tillis is getting tough is that he is currently behind in the polls. Until now Tillis has been a liberal RINO candidate.

Repbulicans at the national level support big government every bit as much as their Democrat colleagues do. When the Republicans “reach across the isle” its usually to hand some favor or concession to the other side.
