That is why it is up to us to quarantine our country from this disease, and not expect others will protect us by not coming over.

The OP story, still up, said they got their info from Reuters, so this is curious.

“I don’t care if the story is true or not. I have a panic to create. It has just been reported by Burma Press International that the entire family related to Thomas Duncan has been confirmed to have Ebola, and that they are being airdropped to several state fairs by order of President Obama.”

Lazamataz, I’m just going to say it: You are the most unique person on Freerepublic. You make us laugh, and we need it! Glad you’re here.

Ok, let’s say Duncan has not died...yet. So what is the life saving treatment without a vaccine.

I have heard that there was a meeting in Europe of multiple bio research companies from all over the world to get on a vaccine asap.

Read through most of the thread and wondering, WHY haven’t they DENIED his death. Also, it is posted in a foreign press attributing it to a Reueters report. Has anyone checked the Reuters releases????

“We are isolating Dr Sacra to be cautious pending final confirmation of his illness,” Dr Robert Finberg told the Associated Press. “We think it is highly unlikely that he has Ebola. We suspect he has an upper respiratory tract infection.”

I wonder if that doc actually has EV-68. Not sure if you saw the article, but a little boy who was kept home from school because of pink eye suddenly died of EV-68 without showing symptoms.

We’ve had a lack of quality in republican candidates. I too held my nose and voted. Hell I even worked the sinking ship of the 2008 election. I knew it was over when NoBrain McCain stood in Waukesha WI and called Obama a nice guy. I did get to meet Gov. Palin and yes folks she is the real deal. I would have walked a mile on broken glass if it meant I could convince enough people to vote for him. The Kenyan said he was going to fundamentally change this country and damn it, he did 2016 should be Cruz but if it is a social liberal like Rand Paul, then what? Everyone will stay home. Surely that will be the death of our Great Country. And we will be stuck with President Clinton. How do we get a candidate most can agree on?

Most agreed on McCain and Romney. I’ll repeat: There’s no statistically significant evidence that previously voting conservatives didn’t vote for Romney.

The question is: How do we generate enthusiasm so that new voters are drawn in and older ones will change their voting habits? How do we motivate the millions of unregistered or non-voting self-described evangelicals?

Think that’s going to happen with Romney? Jeb Bush? No me-too GOP candidate is going to win.

Are they sending the corpse back to Liberia or burying/incinerating it here?

It didn't spread here. One person who caught Ebola from some third world cesspool
comes to America and dies from it.

Whoop-de-doo. Lets all break out our prep rations and lock down the house!

The hyped exaggeration is sickening over this STUPID propaganda.
All who fall for this are being played as fools.

it might be overblown, possibly....but there has been a number of scientists and drs thinking that this is a big deal....BIG deal....

at its core, the biggest fear and scare is looking at how inept our govt is, how many brown nosers are in charge of govt agencies, and indeed, how our prez obolo is NOT protecting us by even a modicum of reasonable response, such as prohibiting persons from ebola regions from coming here to "visit"...

It didn't spread here.

Trot out everyone he had contact with and the cleanup crews, the hospital personnel, and the ambulance crew in three weeks and I'll believe you. I'd be relieved to see that.

In the meantime, we'll see.

Any doctor can prescribe lamivudine off-label at a retail cost of less than $100 for the oral form. Dosage would take some guesswork, however; “as much as can be tolerated” would be tempting. I wonder which form and dosage Dr. Logan administered.
