Police: Postal worker 'laughs hysterically' trying to run over person

BELLEVUE, Wash. -- A postal service worker has been arrested for trying to run over someone who was documenting the worker's offensive behavior toward another person, Bellevue police said.

It all began just after 11 a.m. out front of Phantom Lake Elementary School. The victim was waiting in his car to pick up his child when he overheard a loud argument on the street between a postal worker and another driver over a parking issue, said Seth Tyler with Bellevue Police.

"The victim overheard the postal worker allegedly yelling obscenities very loudly at the citizen and thought that was inappropriate behavior," Tyler said.

The victim walked over in front of the Jeep an in effort to take a picture of the serial number and make a complaint to the Postal Service. But as the victim readied to snap the photo, the worker put the vehicle into drive and intentionally hit the leg of the victim, police said. The victim staggered back and the worker hit the leg two more times, laughing at the victim, Tyler said.

"(The victim) said when she was driving toward him, she was laughing hysterically as if she had just heard a joke," Tyler said. "So that's very concerning to us that she would exhibit that type of behavior."

Tyler said the Jeep was driving at slow speeds and the victim didn't suffer any serious injuries and was able to call 911.

Officers were called to the scene and arrested the 55-year-old postal worker for investigation of fourth-degree assault, Tyler said.

Police said the woman would be interviewed by officers and U.S. Postal Inspectors.

U.S. Postal Service spokesperson Jeremy Leder said the woman would be put on emergency suspension if arrested, adding they aren't aware of any prior discipline history with the worker.

I should have specified the executive branch, although the other two are heavily populated with lunatics as well.

That is *exactly* the scene I thought of when I saw the headline.

“Oh, the humanity!”

So how many weeks of emergency suspension fully paid extended vacation will this person get before being brought back in to work in the exact same vehicle?

I would imagine that it will be proportional to how well she voted for various Postal Workers' Union thugs .

The delivery would cost more than the pizza, and the pizza would arrive cold.

I was thinking, "You bastard. You just want to he as unhelpful as possible, don't you?"

That sort of thing can happen both ways.  At my local P.O. it seems they are intentionally putting the least English-competent people possible at the service counter.  When my elderly Mom asks some of them to repeat what they've just said (her hearing is perfect....it's the lousy diction, heavy accents and brusque attitudes of the clerks that's the problem) they smirk and merely speak more loudly, as if to say "there's nothing wrong with me, it's you that's the problem".  They're arrogant because they know nobody will dare suggest that they improve their English skills for fear of being called "racist" and their Union will protect them from any customer complaints.

I'm guessing that "Post Office Pizza" would rapidly become synonymous with the spread of all sorts of horrific diseases.  Ew.  :-(

End times?

Being chased down the street by a crazed Post Office worker as opposed to the Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse might have its own benefits, such as the inability of the Post Office vehicle to navigate rough terrain and the inability of the Postal Worker to read the street signs leading to your house, but I fear that ultimately the end result would be the same and the Post Office would make you feel far worse after going through the experience than the Four Horsemen would.

Yeah, I've seen that little trick, too.

And you're right -- I don't think anyone dares to complain about someone working at the Post Office. Because, you know that precious little package you just handed over to them? Well, it would be a real shame if something were to happen to that package after you walked out the door ...

They are untouchable. They know it. If you cross them, they will get you back, and they know that they will win that little game.

My guess, since the name of the perp is not published, is that we’re dealing with a daughter of Obama.

Names like Likweesha are a dead give away in circumstances such as this.
