America wants to know: Why in the world isn’t the Ebola clean-up crew in Dallas, Texas, wearing protective biohazard suits to prevent further spread of the deadly virus?
A photo posted online by Dallas/Fort Worth’s WFAA-TV News showed workers pressure washing the sidewalk where Thomas Duncan, a man who arrived from Liberia on Sept. 20 and was confirmed to have the Ebola virus, had vomited all over the ground outside The Ivy Apartments on Sept. 26. Hunter’s family members are reportedly quarantined in an apartment unit under armed guard after they attempted to violate orders to remain in their home.
The workers, who appeared to be allowing the potentially contaminated water wash down the storm drains, wore no protective gear – not even gloves.

The vomitus is almost certainly contamined and full of billions of copies of virus
The hose for the power washer is lying in the puddle and is certainly covered. I'm sure it was decontaminated though, right?
There are two open? beverage bottles (Mountain Dew?) within splash range, one in the parking lot, one in front of the car.
The workers are seeminly oblivious to passersby, like the woman with open toed shoes, who are likely to have been splashed and potentially exposed.
The surfaces of the cars (door handles) in the parking lot were likely exposed.
The “workers” appear to me to be a couple of Mexican guys with a Harbor Freight purchased 2500 psi pressure washer, that probably had not a clue as to the seriousness of the cleanup job they were assigned probably by the management of the apartment building.
Curious if these guys were even aware they were cleaning up Ebola vomit, and there was an iota of danger in what they were doing either for themselves, or anyone else.
Now hold on a minute. They were smart enough to put their drink bottle about 5 feet behind the pressure washer. Give them some credit for being smart.
It was speculated in “The Hot Zone” that Ebola might be hiding in caves in Africa. The virus would come out every so often, cause a little death and chaos and then recede back into a hiding place. Sewers are kind of like caves. This was a really stupid thing to do. Ebola is with us from here on out. JMO. Thanks Barry! Thanks Obammie voters! Good job!

If you listened to the CDC presser this afternoon, you know they have things well in hand — according to them. When questioned about some of the clownish activities in Dallas regarding Dallas Patient Zero, they did admitted that they were learning as they go.
But not to worry. They said, ‘We have a system. We have an infrastructure. We have network procedures. yada yada yada.’
I summarized the presser this way:
Don’t look at how we have screwed up here (Dallas, etc), look at all the good we are doing over there (Africa).

I bet they were hires by the landlords. If the crew, or inhabitants, come down with this stuff, they are negligent.
I read that the CDC “borrowed” bleach from a neighbor and treated the puke. Maybe it was inert after soaking in Hydrogen Chloride. Then again, this is a Government agency......

Don’t worry, soon enough it will be illegal to clean it up except with moon suits and EPA protocols a la Superfund.
(Nothing more moderate like treating the deposit with a gentle bleach spray, letting it sit to disinfect, then hosing it down.)
