Democrats Will Politicize Ebola Just Like They Politicized AIDS

RUSH: Let me just cut to the chase here on the political correctness of this. Ebola, a killer virus, is political. We're in the process of having it politicized. The left politicizes everything. The Democrat Party politicizes everything. Everything is politicized. Now, I can imagine some of you are saying, "Come on, Rush! What in the hell are you talking about? Ebola, politicized?"

Damn right it is.

You know why?

What does Ebola threaten right now? Don't say, "The American people and their health," 'cause that's not how it's being looked at. Ebola is threatening amnesty. Amnesty is desire number one right now politically by the Democrat Party -- and, hell, the Republican Party, too, for all we know. Amnesty. The Washington establishment/political class wants amnesty. That equals open borders.

Ebola is a giant threat to that, and so therefore Ebola has to be positioned as insignificant. "Much ado about nothing. Nothing to see here. Don't worry about it. We've got it in control. It's all in Africa; we're dealing with it." Ebola threatens amnesty. It is political because it feeds into this insane "fairness" argument. Fairness trumps everything. Fairness and equality trump everything.

There is no Bill of Rights for American citizens, meaning that the concept of sovereignty is under attack here. That's what open borders represents. So if anything like Ebola comes along and threatens the support of -- and, by the way, the Regime isn't gonna like this. These ISIS guys? I just saw this, folks. These ISIS guys feel left out. There's a major potential scourge happening to the United States and ISIS feels left out.

They want in on it. So ISIS just put out a statement, a PR statement. They are planning, they say, two things. They are planning to infect their own soldiers with the disease and send them across the border into the United States to infect Americans. The second thing ISIS is planning to do, they say, is they are going to sneak into the country -- it won't take much on the Southern border.

And they are gonna find out where the families of soldiers fighting ISIS in Iraq and Syria live and they're gonna go to their houses and kill their families. They're being very public. It just crossed the wire a half hour ago. You don't think this stuff is political? It's all political. If you want to understand, if you want to be able to answer the questions, "Why isn't the government doing X?

"Why aren't they doing this? Why are they doing this?" you've got to be able to decipher what is the political harm to the Democrat Party of Ebola, and that's how you explain the way they're dealing with it. It's no more complicated than that. Now, that may be hard to believe, it may be hard to accept, but don't doubt me, 'cause it's exactly what's happening.

Here's James in Reston, Virginia, as we head back to the phones. Welcome, sir. I'm glad you waited. Hi.

CALLER: Hey, Rush.

RUSH: Hey.

CALLER: I'm calling because I have a personal experience with the same sort of thing with AIDS back when it was originally discovered in south Florida in the early eighties. My wife was a health educator for the Broward County Health Unit, and one day she was at work doing what she does and there are people walking up and down the hall in full-body garb and respirators and masks and gloves.

It's like, "What the heck's going on here?" She comes to find that there is a disease that's been diagnosed. Let's erase all the 30 years of what we know about AIDS and what we've come to learn. This is a disease that has been discovered in the county. The entire population of people who are exhibiting the disease are gay men. And my wife, being a health care worker, is part of the unit that goes and puts out information about health threats in the community.

RUSH: Right.

CALLER: One of her jobs would be to turn around and say, "You know, we have this thing happening. This is what we know about it. This is what we don't know. Here's what we think you can do to protect yourself," and they get a directive from the CDC, I believe in writing, saying, "Thou shalt not say anything about it at all. You will not mention this disease. You will not talk to people about it. You will not share this information," and my wife had to not do that job anymore, because --

RUSH: Wait a minute, now. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Why did that directive come down?

CALLER: Well, they did not give you a "why," and they wouldn't have. They simply would have said, "Thou shalt not" and left it at that. I don't know what threats they made or what penalties or God knows what was behind it, but --

RUSH: Yes, you do. You just... That's exactly why nobody was supposed to talk about, because it targeted only a specific group.

CALLER: And you just roll forward through time --

RUSH: "Unfair, not fairness, not fair, shouldn't know. So we're not gonna publicize that." Almost immediately... I remember these days because the first thing I remember, it was caused by Reagan, 'cause he didn't talk about it, which meant Reagan didn't care, which meant Reagan was a homophobe, which meant that's why it's spreading. So they had to say, "You know what? It's not gay men.

"It's not just gay men. This is gonna infect the whole population, and they went through all kinds of explanations about why that was." So, yeah, there was a politically correct component to even AIDS. Yeah, you're right about that. Meaning that all of this is nothing new. I guess this is part of my frustration here, folks. I spent much of the last hour of the program yesterday explaining why I was talking about Ebola and this other infectious disease in the way I am.

You know, I've been here 25 years. Sometimes I assume everybody has been listening for 25 years, and I assume everybody knows my objective here and what my mission is and why I'm doing this, and sometimes I lose sight of the fact that there are people who don't know that. They are tuning in randomly, or for the first time, and if they're not hearing the program context, they don't follow it.

You can't just pick one day of this program and listen to it and get anywhere close to what it's about. Sometimes I fail to realize or remember that I have to set the table again, so I decided to set the table again yesterday to explain to people why all of this is being discussed the way I'm discussing it. It's because I'm trying to educate people about what liberalism is and who they are and what it results in.

In this case, the manifesting of all this is political correctness and how it is detrimental, how it operates, and how it's going to determine that the right thing never ends up being done and how it determines incompetent people with no qualifications who do not know what they're doing end up in positions of authority. So I spent about a half hour. I told you the editrix of the Limbaugh Letter, "I want that to be our lead commentary in the next issue of the Limbaugh Letter."

So is these scrambling 'cause it has to be rewritten. She can't take a verbal transcription of a radio program and just rewrite it. It has to be rewritten for the printed word. So we're in the process of doing it. That's how important I think this is. But that's my point: After 25 years, the fact that I still have to explain it? Part of it's frustration. To me, it's simple to learn, simple to understand what the Democrat Party is today, what they stand for.

To me it's crystal clear: Ebola is political because it threatens a part of the Democrat agenda. I understand how difficult that is for people who are not immersed in the day-to-day machinations of politics to believe or accept. Most people hate politics anyway, but the unfortunate thing is they don't believe Democrats do "politics." They only think Republicans do. Democrats are compassion and fair and stuff, happy malarkey.

So it's an ongoing, for lack of a better frame or phrase, education process here. 'Cause I really do believe that the solution to so much in this country is to disempower the left, get them out of leadership positions, stop electing them so they stop appointing like-minded incompetents. For example, I don't know this woman, Julia Pierson, who was the Secret Service director 'til yesterday when she resigned. But here's this African leaders summit that Obama's hosting and she's having people tear down the experts who have set up security perimeters and techniques. She's demanding they tear it all down, claiming, "We need to be more like Disney World. We need to be more inviting."

I'm thinking, Secret Service? Somebody thinking this way? The Secret Service ought never be seen. Other than when they show up to shadow them, protect them, or what have you, but the Secret Service ought not be why people are coming to the African leaders summit. Disney World? We find out she worked there. She was a costumed character and she did a couple of other things, PR office, I'm not sure which.

But, I mean, that's political correctness, if anything is. But it's clearly uncalled for. It has no basis. It's absurd, and yet she thought it was totally legitimate and the right thing to do. I'm telling you, that's dangerous. Couple that with everything else that's been happening, easy access to the White House. Oh, yeah, come on in, we're just trying to make it like Disney World here.

Its started. Some A-hole has been calling all the talkshows blaming republicans for seeking to defund the CDC, causing the Ebola crisis.

CNN started already tonight.

The “massive budget cuts” of the last 4 years are making it more difficult to fight Ebola they just said

6 reporters in a row just used that exact words.

That’s going to be a tough cell considering the massive increase in the national debt of AT LEAST $6Trillion Obama spent.

I don’t care how much you spend. The Democrats will ALWAYS want to spend more.

Take a look at welfare. Half a trillion dollars per year, no problem...

And I had no idea the United States is responsible for diseases that spread in AFRICA..or is the CDC responsible for that too? The media just can’t admit that Obama’s open border policy is the cause of all of this. That illness that is infecting children, paralyzing them, and killing them across the country is being spread by those illegal alien children being brought here, or is that the GOP’s fault too..the media are puppets for Obama but this will once again backfire on them

If we had an opposition party, it would have already politicized ebola by demanding the border be sealed for the protection of the population. The fact the GOPe is silent is more evidence they are in collusion with the regime.

NPR had a bit of PC on their report this evening. They suggested that quarantining people like the family of patient zero might make it likely that other people will slip away to avoid being quarantined. To their benefit they pointed out that legal tradition allows quarantining, but hinted that such laws might not be progressive enough for liberals.

Some folks are going to try to politicize regardless.

For instance, if Odinga ordered martial law as a response, a vast majority would object simply because Odinga CAUSED the problems to start with, and the vast majority rightly do not trust him or his handlers with anything.

However, if the military stepped in, and said, "We are assuming command BECAUSE OUR CIVILIAN LEADERSHIP IS PATHETICALLY INEPT", or something to that effect, I believe the vast majority of our population would respond positively to such a change.

Well I'm underfunded too. The Feds always claim they are underfunded! What about the freakin taxpayers?!

If they just took people OFF groping grandmas and screened hot-zone passengers - AND SHUT THE BORDER - it would solve this AND MANY OTHER costly growing national problems (like schools chocked with non-English speakers, and ERs clogged with virus-of-month).

Why can't they do these *TWO THINGS* - CLOSE BORDER, QUARANTINE EBOLA NATIONS?

I'm sorry, logic has been detected. Please rewrite your post and submit for approval.

- This addresses our government's inability to add 2+2 correctly these days.

- This is the new math policy logic.

Farrakhan (sp?) said that Ebola’s been invented to kill off black people, if you can believe that.

Maybe it would be easier for EVERY republican candidate to say that unless the border is closed immediately, the entourage and Ebola will kill a million minorities, women and children.

Force the rats to deny it.

Luckily, if you catch Ebola and you are bleeding out of your eyes, ears, nose and every other orifice, just consider how lucky you really are having Obamacare available to scrape up and dispose of the residue of you!

Apparently we have another deadly incurable disease in which it has been decided that those infected are a protected Victim class whose “rights” trump any concerns of spreading it.

Telling people to stay in their apartment? Ridiculous.
