Senators Chris Murphy (D-CT), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), and Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) have added their voices to Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America's campaign for Kroger to ban the open carry of firearms in its stores.
On August 18 Breitbart News reported that Moms Demand launched a campaign aimed at pressuring Kroger into changing its gun policy. Current Kroger policy abides by local and state regulations.

Which means unarmed citizens to be gunned down at will from people who don’t believe in signs ...
I wonder if they’ll also support a ban on beheading “infidels” in Kroger.
I don’t pay any attention to ‘gun bans’ in establishments. There are people out there, obviously everywhere, that would cut my, or my family’s heads off. I WILL maintain a credible means of using deadly force to stop that. I don’t give a damn what the sign on the front door might say. If properly concealed, they’ll never know whether or not you have it anyway.
I’m dammed SURE any violent criminal, jihadist, or any other unsavory character won’t observe any “gun ban” at a store, or anywhere else. Why should I?
Of course. Susan Collins, Olympia Snow etc will join the dimwits.
Thank you!
Absolutely!
I’m surprised insurance companies haven’t got out in front on this, rendering any business that doesn’t prohibit firearms on or in the premises as uninsurable, or making their insurance FAR more expensive if they don’t have a sign up saying they aren’t allowed, ect.
You better believe there’s a ‘Saul Goodman’/John Edwards out there, just waiting to sue the hell out of a business if some innocent bystander gets shot by a concealed carry gun in a store that doesn’t have a sign up, prohibiting firearms.
In my liberal hometown of Seattle, there were no Krogers. But i understand they own Fred Meyer and QFC. Where I live now (KY), it would be anathema for them to ban guns.
many states have laws that prohibit insurance companies from doing just that.
These two senators should be marked as “unelectable” for taking such an anti-civil rights stance.
It is not the second amendment right it is properly called a
civil right issue.
Though I have to say, for all the time I’ve spent in grocery stores in my life (including Kroger) I can’t recall EVER seeing a customer carry. At least not openly.
This is a phony non-issue.
This is a phony non-issue.
How many Krogers are there in CT again?
How many in CA?
Iirc Kroger tends to be a Southernish/MidWesternish chain. Would love to see some Senators from states where Kroger has a sizable presence tell these Northeastern and Left Coast interlopers to focus on their own states and butt the heck out.
There's never a speeding AMTRAK train nearby when you need one, is there :-)
Moms Demand Action my ass....another feeble attempt to pressure a private business to carry water for the DNC!!!
Well, the “Smith’s” grocery stores here in Reno are somehow affiliated with Kroger. Fairly decent prices too. Don’t know if they have “Smith’s” in Cali.
Several mos ago 3 Amish yutes shadowed Mr. GG2 coming out of the local Kroger. He was in the parking lot getting ready to have to draw down when a Lilburn cop zipped up, rolled down his window and beckoned to the yutes. He had apparently seen what was about to unfold. Bottom line we ain’t goin nowhere without a gun.
I live is a Denver suburb and in 15 years I have seen open carry twice in a Kroger (KingSoopers) store and recognized the print of concealed carry about 4 times. Of the two open carry, one was security guard (I knew him through my son’s football team). I don’t know about the other time. Both carry times everyone remained calm and no one freaked out. I have HEARD that in western Colorado, during hunting season, some people will enter stores with their rifles because they do not want to leave them in their cars.
Never saw anyone carry a rifle inside the grocery store. But I have seen rifles during political protests (when they instituted the magazine limits) outside the capital building. Again, no one freaked out.
Really, this is a non-issue
These Anti-gun moms will soon care little about guns.
A truly deadly thing is looming that will make this thing they do today look foolish.
So police would be banned from Kroger.
