He need only look in the mirror. The reason so little is said is that anyone who sticks his neck out will only get it cut off. Nobody in congress will pursue their testimony honestly.
All of the people who have testified to congress on DOJ, FandF and Benghazi have come to nothing good and nothing was done after they squandered their careers.
I credit cummings for nothing. The attitude of the staff is a reflection of the attitude of the management. The management doesn’t care enough to do anything. It is all politics.
Under any other Administration, I’d say she’s toast. But this one never fires anyone.

There were a couple of moments of stunned silence when she didn’t have answers to their questions. She was clearly not used to being grilled like that. Her canned responses of “we’re looking into it” and early attempts at stonewalling weren’t given quarter by most of the committee. For the most part, she was horrible.
She holds an appointed position. Not sure what Congress can do about forcing her out.

...yet their spokesdroid’s mouthpiece excuses them with “every organization has some learning to do” regarding a spectacular failure to stop the most mundane attacker.
If the one family home having the very best money-and-law-is-not-an-issue security on the planet can’t stop (multiple times over) this kind of problem, then in no way should said occupant & cronies be telling us to settle for nothing more than complete disarming and trusting security to people we’ve never met and are miles away.
No, they can’t speak extemporaneously at all. Between lawyers, coaching, liability and ineptness that ability has been lost.
The attitude of the staff is a reflection of the attitude of their management. The fish rots from the head. The rot sets the tone for the rest of the body. With the wrong leadership even an organization that was good becomes poor under new leadership and it does not take long. It also does not take long for an organization to lose its tribal knowledge. We are losing the edge in lots of places.
You can only tolerate so much PC and you finally just give up and give in and let the chips fall where ever they may. A woman at the front door? Women as supervisors in an organization that is supposed to be closer to a goon squad than finesse? Somebody is stupid. PC run amok. Same thing goes for the military.
Personal discipline is much the same way. If you let yourself slip it just gets easier and easier.
It takes special people to lead special organizations and they have to keep their string taught all the time.
I celebrate every failure of this government and society, every loss of freedoms, every new outrage, every lie, every bungle and every disaster. The sheeple must get what they deserve. It is the only way. I like suffering if they suffer as well. There is no orderly way to reverse this tide. The body has to be destroyed and be rebuilt from the ashes.

I’m noticing a distinct absence of a point:
There are many references to the perp being apprehended out-of-state with a carload of weapons and a map to the core governmental area (as the skittish SS director notes, it did not mark the WH in particular, just the narrow area it’s in; Capitol et al would be just as suspect a destination) and the SS not seeing that as a Red Alert on the premise that he wasn’t actually doing/admitting anything illegal ...
... but despite pointing out that this man who admittedly was living out of his car (and thus had no home to return to), with a map of DC, and who admitted having that map for “sightseeing”, NOBODY observed that what he had in the car would either be ABSOLUTELY ILLEGAL in DC, or (given the confusing court rulings of late) even if legal, EVERY LEVEL OF DC POLICE OF ALL KINDS would DO EVERYTHING THEY WOULD TO INCARCERATE HIM AS LONG AS CONCEIVABLY POSSIBLE. Instead, they talked to him for a while and let him go.
And when he was found with an axe at the WH fence, same result. Let go, not “prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law”.

Folks, I’m sorry but this is Darwinism in action. I get the whole thing about not wanting martyrdom and so forth and agree. I do not want to see any freak break into the WH and kill/harm anyone. But if this crew of fools wants to commit suicide through dealing the SS, that’s their choice.
Whatever admin that potentially replaces it will up the security to where it belongs. These idiots are going to do nothing but make things worse following these farcical hearings anyway. They will double down as they do on anyone and anything that opposes their divine wisdom.
Not like they’d listen to anything coming out of these hearings that messes with their optics anyway. So just be ready to deal with the fallout when some whackjob does succeed. Not like we have a choice anyway.
