EXCLUSIVE: Poconos cop killer taunts police as he's spotted AGAIN before fleeing into remote
UK Daily Mail ^ | September 28, 2014 | Martin Gould

Posted on 09/28/2014 7:13:09 PM PDT by kiryandil

Fugitive gunman Eric Frein has again evaded the massive police dragnet that has now been hunting him for 16 days as he ran into woods after being spotted in the Pocono Mountains.

Frein, 31, wanted for murdering one state trooper and critically injuring another, managed to flee, although MailOnline understands they have a jacket that he left behind.

Frein, who is on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted List, was seen just outside the perimeter of the five-square-mile search area that up to 1,000 cops are manning at any one time.

The sighting led to a huge shift southwards as heavily armed cops were forced to rethink their tactics in their frustrating task of finding the expert woodsman...

I think the point was if he had killed you and me there would not be this sort of effort or expense

I think this is why he shot the cops, and not you or me. I think this guy spent a lot of time planning.

Have to say I am, too. Don’t know what to make of it.

Around 240 years ago, an incurious CNN would have "reported" that a bunch of disgruntled farmers who had been "talking smack" about LEOs had fired on government troops for absolutely no reason...

I'm not saying Frein is a "patriot" - but I ain't saying he ain't got a good reason for flipping off the Armored, Automatic Police State.

“Given the epic scale of LEO failure in this case, why are you unhappy with my porcine analogy/taxonomy?”

And your expert opinion that this is a LEO failure is being formed all the way down in Florida? Sorry, folks here at Ground Zero think the police have been doing a fantastic job. And not a civilian has been harmed, no panicked cops shooting wildly at glimpses of him, no random cars shot up as we’ve seen in other manhunt cases. From what we see here, the Eric Frein case is dragging on this long exactly BECAUSE the police are being so careful and professional.

But you go ahead with your slimey Bill Ayers/Charles Manson/Black Panthers rhetoric because apparently you know better than the folks that live here...

And not a civilian has been harmed

I dunno about that.

Two civilian police officers have been shot, and one died.

Or am I misunderstanding the situation on the ground? Are American military ground forces involved?

“Running away doesn’t do much to prove their bravery.”

Unless it was his plan all along to evade and make them look like fools. He does seem to me to be ‘toying’ with LE.

The cops should mock him for that goofy hat.

I heard something like that too. They said that the cop that he killed was having an affair with his sister in law. Like this could have been a personal vendetta.

With dogs tracking him - maybe not too bad of an idea to wear diapers. While I’m sure a person leaves behind enough of a scent anyways - perhaps it would help if you can pee in a diaper rather than leaving a real strong scent every so often.

And when you’re done with it - chuck it over a 200-foot cliff. Although you’ll need to haul around a lot of diapers!

There was a guy outside of Seattle that had spent years building an underground bunker in a wild state park about 45 minutes east.

He murdered his wife iirc and then fled to his two-room hidden bunker.

Except everyone knew that 2-3 days a week he would go up there to go “hiking”. Found his car at the parking lot of the park. Meanwhile they were searching his records and found he had purchased lots of home-improvement things over the years without using them at home (tar paper, metal duct work, pvc pipes, etc.)

I think they found his bunker in just a few days. He ended up dead.

An underground bunker like that might be okay in a SHTF situation when there is not a large, organized search for you. But if so, I think a mobile and evading technique would be the way to go.

I’m glad you pointed out the word “civilian.”

I’m tired of reading police threads here on FR where the word “civilian” is used. Unless you’re active duty military, you are a civilian.

The police are civilians, just like the non-police members of the public. However, I don’t mind when non-police members of the public are called “citizens.”

How about replacing the word “citizens”, with denizen, or subject? Ring any bells, with ya?

"PA State police aren't the most professional"

They used to be. They are also the oldest law enforcement organization in the country.

When they get this guy ..he’s done....
Our State police have ways of..well.. let’s just say the guy will get what’s coming to him. We just won’t hear about it.

"Conversation this morning a question arose about military heat identification technology from low flying aircraft Is that a possibility ?"

It's probably already being used. It's infra red, it's called forward looking infra red or (FLIR) on gun cameras. A small camera can also be used on the ground.

We are not being told the whole story here, this guy is an expert marksman. One cop shot dead the other wounded, shot in the crotch on purpose.

Not until the leaves fall in another month. The foliage up there makes tough work for a FLIR camera.
