Actually, there are several legal ways around “posse comitatus”. A team of 3 members could be deputized while home on “leave”. Recently released or retired members could be recruited and deputized. Above all the team would need to be experienced in small team kill/capture missions. Yes, although there is a remote possibility of a capture, in all probability it will be a kill mission. If the “play soldiers” continue the way they are I suspect there will be more killings.

Pennsylvania State police was formed in 1905. The Texas Rangers combined with the Texas Dept. of Public Safety in 1933. My Bad, I should have been more specific about oldest state police.

You can’t BS a background check.

Sheriff departments and federal agencies are heavy on recruiting specop types. I have a friend that is a SF medic and competition where he is applying is extreme. He has to compete with all the other specops guys. They won’t take anyone not prior military with recent experience.

The US Marshall Service is not State Police; it’s a federal law agency.

Yeah, I missed the qualifier “state” when I read the original post that I was responding to.

“So, I guess your point would be that we’ve already been occupied by a standing army of police?”

My point is that we have allowed generations of commies to take over our school systems, and many agencies.

As for those LEO’s trying to catch the man who shot two LEo’s, they are finding out why armed citizens, pushed beyond their limit for agency Abuse are difficult to deal with, a lesson many organized armies have failed to heed, from the USSR in Afghanistan to us in Sand Savage Land.

When police behavior devolves to “Preserve my job” and “Protect my pension”, and when AgencyPersons think they are masters instead of servants, those who cherish their liberty had better look carefully and take care.

Let’s hope the shooter doesn’t want to kill any more.

“But you go ahead with your slimey Bill Ayers/Charles Manson/Black Panthers rhetoric”.

Illogical, irritable, and still willing to allow me to speak! I am impressed. You can multi-task.

I see the situation regarding this Frien fellow hasn't improved much and now people are involved in verbal sniping matches and ad hominem attacks.

Now more on the subject if anyone has read Tom Browns book “The Way of The scout” there is a chapter where he is hired to run down a fugitive in the wilderness that LE has built up to be a some sort of Rambo superman that required enormous resources.

What he found was that the fugitive was just a better camper/outdoorsman than average but nothing special. All he did was go after him alone and track him and harry him to ground. Once the fugitive was so debilitated from having his supplies stolen, his weapon broken and his water purification compromised he was easily taken in.

This sounds very similar to this except LE has blood on their mind in this case. Those that suggested using small units of trackers, I believe are on the right track to bring Frein in.
