Are you saying that It’s not the cannellini beans that will give you digestive problems?

Lemme get this straight.... Are these the same people threatening to go on national strike against these fast food restaurants????? Sounds like a left wing smear to me.

Deserved a repost!

I have eaten at McDonalds all over the world (Sharm el Sheik, Egypt was the cleanest and freshest and they brought the food to your table!) and the quality was reproducible to a very high degree. You can't do that worldwide without very specific quality control. I happen to like the food and I don't eat there three meals a day.

Are there some bad people n every walk of life? Sure. I've always tried everything once and twice if I like it.

One of the best meals I have had was from a roadside stand in the mountains of Puerto Rico with goats and chickens walking through the place as they served a very busy lunch crowd. Yum!

I was in New Orleans and bought some of The Beast Hot Sauce http://www.hotsauce.com/The-Beast-Hot-Sauce-p/1937tb.htm

Very hot, but with some flavor. I showed it to my bud, he went to Wendy's and got 2 Chili's so we could try it.

I carefully put about a 1/8th teaspoon in, he grabbed the beast are splashed twice before I could stop him. Later he was asked if he was having a heart attack because of his bright red face.

There is warning to keep the Beast away from dogs and children. However, it is worth getting some.

There were seven kids in our family. My mother routinely threw leftover meat into the chili pot. She told us any germs would get killed in the 15 minutes or so of simmering.

What a bunch of nonsense. The -vast- majority of food poisoning cases are from people cooking improperly in their own homes. Not that restaurant cases don’t happen, of course they do, but most people at home violate all sorts of food safety rules every day. Sure we all think our kitchens are clean and we are safer than a restaurant, but we’re not. Most home kitchens, even when they look clean, would be shut down if they were in a restaurant.

If only one McDonald’s burger in a million were contaminated they would kill about two thousand people a month.

Eh.

Most fast food joints that aren't in poor areas are quite clean. I don't care for the meat, which usually tastes low-fat and unsatisfying—and not very digestible. But if you need to pick up a burger, Wendy's is pretty good. Especially if you add bacon, which, as we know, makes everything better.

We used to chase the mice out of the produce department. Sometimes we threw plums at them. I remember coming in early one day to see a couple of mice sitting on top of the bin of peanuts having a grand ole time.

I worked in several stores, for a couple of chains. This is the same everywhere.

When “they” tell you to wash your produce, there is a reason for that.

Burger King veteran here: there is nothing better in the world than the first batch of fries out of new oil.

We used to change ours every couple of days.

Nothing worse than that last batch of fries from old oil.

Don’t you realize facts don’t matter.

Reality is fast food are generally some of the cleanest kitchens in the restaurant industry.. Why?

Simple, the customers have a pretty open view of them, so they have to keep them clean.

I spent 3 years in my youth working in fast food and while it may indeed be cheap low quality food it was by far cleaner than fancier restaurants I worked in later, at least in the kitchen.

In fact among folks I know working in the industry today, Morton’s has the reputation in town for the nastiest kitchen in town.

Your mother was right.

I freeze any leftover meat after 1-2 days in the fridge, just so I won’t forget it until it goes off. All this is labeled and it then gets added to whatever is appropriate, sometimes chili, sometimes soup, maybe a stirfry or (for chicken and pork), eggrolls. Soup anywhere can utilize all sorts of leftovers. Before refrigeration, soups and basic sauces were routinely kept simmering on the back of the fire. Ingredients were added as they became available and the entire pot brought to a boil once a day.

We have never been ill from food poisoning with homemade food. Only time we were actually poisoned was from Korean steamtable buffet once when we were out of town for a trade show. I mean fever and bloody stools, vomiting sort of ill. Once. Twenty years ago.

Freezing and boiling kills most pathogens. Wasting food is a sin.

This is where statistics lie. I have been shopping for, cooking, and storing my own meals for many years, never suffering a food related illness.

Score
Me: 1
Restaurants: 0

And, by-the-way, why pay ridiculous prices for questionable food that has been spat upon by illegals?

I wouldn’t go that far, I nor anyone in my family has gotten sick from a home cooked meal. But all of us have suffered at one point or another from food borne illness after eating at various restaurants.

Last one was a diner that had my wife vomiting within 1/2 an hour of eating and dry heaving for nearly 2 days after. She had pancakes no one else did. My guess is the batter had been stored improperly for days.

McD’s and Panera’s are off my list because of their anti 2nd Amendment stances.

I understand about not carrying on the Navy base, and am willing to accept the restriction. But a private non base business that does NOT allow my CCW piece does NOT GET MY $$.

All gun owners ought to boycott such businesses if at all possible.

Ditto goes for those Anti Christmas, happy holiday stores. I do not do happy holiday, I do CHRISTmas!

Let’s see now, are these employees people who are fine being employed there? McCafe has good coffee and Einstein Bros. has great food.

I disagree with that statement. No one has EVER been ill with food poisoning from my house. Never.
With restaurants and especially fast food, the quality of prep and quality of materials is suspect. Really, a dirty hand or a little snot in your burger probably won’t make you sick, but it’s disgusting.
I stay away from fast food for the most part. Sometimes, though, I just feel a need for 6 Krystal Cheese and a Sweet Tea.

Honestly, what’s wrong with it? They use meat patties that were already cooked and not used? I don’t think that’s all that bad.

Now if they gathered it from leftover burgers in the garbage...that would be bad.

I always take this kind of article with a huge grain of salt.

You know, it probably depends on what dirthole city the given fastfood store is located in..and then, which neighborhood. Most of them are franchises and cannot be painted with a broad brush regarding these filthy practices.

Most of us here probably know some kids who work in one of these places and who can tell the truth of ops in the kitchen.

By the way, I believe the Taco Bell/KFC in Brunswick uses chicken giblets as "beef" in their taco filling.
